Dark resonance spectra of trapped ions under the influence of micromotion

open access: yesFrontiers in Quantum Science and Technology
We study the influence of micromotion on the spectrum of trapped ions with a lambda-type level scheme, leading to dark resonances due to coherent population trapping.

A cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) safe metal braided catheter design for interventional CMR at 1.5 T: freedom from radiofrequency induced heating and preserved mechanical performance

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, 2019
Background Catheter designs incorporating metallic braiding have high torque control and kink resistance compared with unbraided alternatives. However, metallic segments longer than a quarter wavelength (~ 12 cm for 1.5 T scanner) are prone to ...

Asymmetric Contact Engineering for Bottleneck‐Free Transport in 2D MoS2 Field‐Effect Transistor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Performance of 2D semiconductor transistors is limited by carrier transport bottlenecks arising from specific device geometries. By identifying this structural limitation, a bottleneck‐free asymmetric transistor architecture (BATA) is introduced to improve carrier transport.

Magnetism and Nonlinear Charge Transport in NiFe2O4/γ‐Al2O3/SrTiO3 Heterostructure: Toward Spintronic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this report, we demonstrate that a crystalline phase of 52nm thick NiFe2O4 can be grown by RF sputtering on top of γ‐Al2O3(8nm)/SrTiO3 at a significantly low temperature (150 °C) without compromising the mobility and carrier density of the 2D electron gas at the γ‐Al2O3(8nm)/SrTiO3 interface.

In Situ Amidation‐Derived Interfacial Modulation for Homogeneous Ultra‐High Nanoparticle Loading Toward Robust and Flexible Piezoelectric Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Synergistic interfacial strategy between inorganic ceramic fillers and polymer chains effectively inhibit particle aggregation and interfacial incompatibility. complex covalent and non‐covalent interfacial interactions promote superior uniformity, ultra‐high ceramic filler loading, and strong grain‐to‐grain connectivity, thereby enabling the ...

Quantum control of $^{88}$Sr$^+$ in a miniature linear Paul trap

open access: yes, 2011
We report on the construction and characterization of an apparatus for quantum information experiments using $^{88}$Sr$^+$ ions. A miniature linear radio-frequency (rf) Paul trap was designed and built.

Tissue Engineered Human Elastic Cartilage From Primary Auricular Chondrocytes for Ear Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Despite over three decades of research, no tissue‐engineered solution for auricular reconstruction in microtia patients has reached clinical translation. The key challenge lies in generating functional elastic cartilage ex vivo. Here, we integrate synergistic cell‐biomaterial strategies to engineer auricular grafts with mechanical and histological ...

In Situ 3D Bioprinting: Impact of Cross‐Linking on the Adhesive Properties of Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In situ 3D bioprinting enables the direct deposition of cell‐laden, adhesive biomaterials for on‐site tissue regeneration. This review provides a comprehensive overview of how cross‐linking influences the bioadhesive properties of hydrogels used in 3D bioprinting, highlighting cross‐linking triggers, bioadhesion mechanisms, polymer interpenetration ...
