Construction of an EBW Heating System for the MST RFP [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
The first observation of rf heating in a reversed field pinch (RFP) using the electron Bernstein wave (EBW) has been demonstrated on Madison Symmetric Torus (MST). The design of the RF heating system used in this experiment is described.

RF heating experiments in CHS and RF development for LHD [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 1997
A compact helical system has been used to examine the key ideas for ICR heating in the large helical device, which is in its final construction phase. Two types of antennas used in the initial stage of heating. The temporal evolution of plasma parameters, their dependence on the magnetic field, and the confinement time are obtained in the heating ...

Ground-state cooling of a trapped ion Using long-wavelength radiation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We demonstrate ground-state cooling of a trapped ion using radio-frequency (rf) radiation. This is a powerful tool for the implementation of quantum operations, where rf or microwave radiation instead of lasers is used for motional quantum state ...

Experimental Evaluation of Relationship Between Radiofrequency Heating Near Implanted Conductive Devices, Scanner-Reported B1+rms, and Transmit Power

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Microwaves
Time-varying radiofrequency (RF) fields necessary to perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) may induce excessive heating near implanted conductive medical devices during MRI. The time and space-averaged root-mean-square effective magnetic field (B1+rms)

Effect of Large-Scale Paddy Rice Drying Process Using Hot Air Combined with Radio Frequency Heating on Milling and Cooking Qualities of Milled Rice

open access: yesFoods, 2022
The objectives of the study on a continuous flow hot air dryer combined with radio frequency heating at different temperatures (HA/RF) (38 °C, 42 °C, 46 °C, and 50 °C) in a large-scale process compared with conventional continuous flow hot air drying (HA)

A tool for predicting heating uniformity in industrial radio frequency processing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Radio frequency energy is utilised for heating in a wide range of applications, particularly in the food industry. A major challenge of RF processing is non-uniform heating in loads of variable and angular geometry, leading to reduced quality and product

Down‐regulation of Shh in the hair follicles of mice during chemotherapy‐induced hair loss is mediated by the JAK/STAT1 signaling pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We found that during chemotherapy‐induced alopecia (CIA), Sonic hedgehog (Shh) expression significantly decreased in hair follicle Shh+ cells, whereas the Janus‐activated kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 (JAK/STAT1) signaling pathway was markedly activated.

Chronological and Spatial Distribution of Skeletal Muscle Fat Replacement in FHL1‐Related Myopathies

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Variants in the FHL1 gene cause FHL1‐related myopathies (FHL1‐RMs), a group of neuromuscular disorders with diverse clinical presentations. This study aimed to comprehensively characterize the spatial and temporal patterns of skeletal muscle fat replacement throughout the whole body in FHL1‐RMs, to examine disease progression over ...
