Three-dimensional fluid simulation of radio-frequency negative hydrogen ion source with the addition of noble gases

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
As an essential part of the neutral beam injection system for the magnetic confinement fusion devices, radio-frequency (RF) ion source is responsible for generating negative hydrogen ions.

Radiofrequency and 2.45 GHz electron cyclotron resonance H− volume production ion sources

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2016
The volume production of negative hydrogen ions ( ${{\rm{H}}}^{-}$ ) in plasma ion sources is based on dissociative electron attachment (DEA) to rovibrationally excited hydrogen molecules (H _2 ), which is a two-step process requiring both, hot electrons

A Van der Waals Optoelectronic Synapse with Tunable Positive and Negative Post‐Synaptic Current for Highly Accurate Spiking Neural Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A van der Waals optoelectronic synaptic device based on a ReS2/WSe2 heterostructure and oxygen‐treated h‐BN is presented, which enables both positive and negative PSCs through photocarrier polarity reversal. Bidirectional plasticity arises from gate‐tunable band bending and charge trapping‐induced quasi‐doping.

Mini RF-driven ion source for focused ion beam system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Mini RF-driven ion sources with 1.2 cm and 1.5 cm inner chamber diameter have been developed at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Several gas species have been tested including argon, krypton and hydrogen. These mini ion sources operate in inductively coupled mode and are capable of generating high current density ion beams at tens of watts. Since

The RF H− ion source project at RAL [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2018
A project to design and construct an RF-driven long-lifetime volume production ion source producing 30 mA of H− with 50 Hz repetition rate and 1.5% duty factor at 35 keV energy for the ISIS Neutron and Muon Source has been started at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.

Spectrally Tunable 2D Material‐Based Infrared Photodetectors for Intelligent Optoelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intelligent optoelectronics through spectral engineering of 2D material‐based infrared photodetectors. Abstract The evolution of intelligent optoelectronic systems is driven by artificial intelligence (AI). However, their practical realization hinges on the ability to dynamically capture and process optical signals across a broad infrared (IR) spectrum.

Digital Discovery of Synthesizable Metal−Organic Frameworks via Molecular Dynamics‑Informed, High‑Fidelity Deep Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Tabular foundation model interrogates the synthetic likelihood of metal−organic frameworks. Abstract Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are celebrated for their chemical and structural versatility, and in‑silico screening has significantly accelerated their discovery; yet most hypothetical MOFs (hMOFs) never reach the bench because their synthetic ...

Production of multi-charged phosphorus ions with ecris 'SUPERSHyPIE' at GANIL [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The Ganil's Ion Production Group tested the source SUPERSHyPIE123 for theproduction of phosphorus n+ ion beams. The SUPERSHyPIE ecris is used for many testsof multi-charged ion production and supply ion beams for LIMBE4 (low energie beamline).

High source potential upstream of a current-free electric double layer

open access: yes, 2015
Large plasma potentials (up to ∼80V) are measured upstream of a current-free electric double layer generated in a helicon rf argon discharge for a constant rf power of 250 W (at 13.56 MHz) and for low operating pressures(

RF Negative Ion Source Development at IPP Garching [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2007
IPP Garching is heavily involved in the development of an ion source for Neutral Beam Heating of the ITER Tokamak. RF driven ion sources have been successfully developed and are in operation on the ASDEX‐Upgrade Tokamak for positive ion based NBH by the NB Heating group at IPP Garching.
