PharmVar GeneFocus: NAT2—Genetic Variation and Updated Nomenclature

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
The Pharmacogene Variation Consortium (PharmVar) provides nomenclature for the highly polymorphic human N‐acetyltransferase 2 (NAT2) gene. NAT2 metabolizes several clinically used drugs including isoniazid, hydralazine, amifampridine, procainamide, and sulfonamides such as dapsone, and also some highly carcinogenic arylamines.

Does the Application Flow Rate of Nutrient Solutions Prepared in Brackish Water Affect Coriander Production?

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Flow rates for applying nutrient solutions in hydroponic systems are empirically known, yet uncertainties remain regarding whether brackish water affects the optimal flow rate and, consequently, biomass production and allocation. This study evaluated whether variations in application flow rate affect coriander biomass when brackish water is ...

Characterization of a macrophagic-like cell line derived from rabbit fish (Siganus fuscescens): An illustration of anti-inflammatory responses of the herbal extract of Scutellaria baicalensis

open access: yesFish and Shellfish Immunology Reports, 2021
A new cell line was isolated and characterized from the head kidney of Siganus fuscescens (rabbit fish). The new macrophagic-like cell line was named as rabbit fish macrophage (RFM), and which could be sub-cultured for over 50 cycles since the ...

A restoring force model for a novel type of precast beam-to-column joints using mechanical connections

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials, 2023
To investigate the restoring force model (RFM) for a novel type of precast beam-to-column joints using a mechanical connection (PBCJ-MCs), the low-cycle cyclic loading test of three PBCJ-MCs was first performed in this article.

Evolution of Multipolar Magnetic Fields in Isolated Neutron Stars and its effect on Pulsar Radio Emission [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The evolution of the multipolar structure of the magnetic field of isolated neutron stars is studied assuming the currents to be confined to the crust. Lower orders ($\le 25$) of multipole are seen to evolve in a manner similar to the dipole suggesting ...
