Multispectral Image Caption Unification Using Diffusion and Cycle GAN Models

open access: yesIEEE Access
A major limitation is the scarcity of geospatial datasets that simultaneously provide multispectral imagery and descriptive captions. In particular, datasets containing aligned RGB, multispectral, and caption information remain highly limited. Therefore,

Grounding Large Language Models for Robot Task Planning Using Closed‐Loop State Feedback

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
BrainBody‐Large Language Model (LLM) introduces a hierarchical, feedback‐driven planning framework where two LLMs coordinate high‐level reasoning and low‐level control for robotic tasks. By grounding decisions in real‐time state feedback, it reduces hallucinations and improves task reliability.

Feature Calibrating and Fusing Network for RGB-D Salient Object Detection

open access: yesIEEE transactions on circuits and systems for video technology (Print)
Due to their imaging mechanisms and techniques, some depth images inevitably have low visual qualities or have some inconsistent foregrounds with their corresponding RGB images.

Improving the Robustness of Visual Teach‐and‐Repeat Navigation Using Drift Error Correction and Event‐Based Vision for Low‐Light Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

TacScope: A Miniaturized Vision‐Based Tactile Sensor for Surgical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
TacScope is a compact, vision‐based tactile sensor designed for robot‐assisted surgery. By leveraging a curved elastomer surface with pressure‐sensitive particle redistribution, it captures high‐resolution 3D tactile feedback. TacScope enables accurate tumor detection and shape classification beneath soft tissue phantoms, offering a scalable, low‐cost ...

Continual Learning for Multimodal Data Fusion of a Soft Gripper

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Models trained on a single data modality often struggle to generalize when exposed to a different modality. This work introduces a continual learning algorithm capable of incrementally learning different data modalities by leveraging both class‐incremental and domain‐incremental learning scenarios in an artificial environment where labeled data is ...

A State‐Adaptive Koopman Control Framework for Real‐Time Deformable Tool Manipulation in Robotic Environmental Swabbing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.
