Rh-immunoglobulin: Rh prophylaxis

Best Practice & Research Clinical Haematology, 2006
In 1609, in the popular Paris press, a French midwife reported the birth of twins. The first was grossly edematous (hydropic) and died promptly. The second, in better condition, became deeply jaundiced; developed neurologic symptoms (kernicterus) and died on the 3rd day.

An Unusual Rh Agglutinogen Lacking Blood Factors RhA, RhB, RhC and RhD*

Transfusion, 1964
A case is presented whose red blood cells were typed as Rhabcd1rh and whose serum contained an antibody resembling anti‐Rho in specificity. This serum sensitized all Rho‐positive cells tested except the cells of the patient herself.

Suppression of Primary Rh‐immunization by Anti‐Rh

Transfusion, 1970
A case is reported in which passively acquired antibody (RhoGAM®) apparently prevented maternal immunization to Rh by a large volume of Rh‐positive blood. After a 1,000‐ml transfusion of Rh‐positive blood into an Rh‐negative mother, 59 ml of Rh‐immune globulin were administered in fractional doses at 12‐hour intervals for eight days.

The interaction of Rh(II) and Rh(III) with DNA

Journal of Inorganic Biochemistry, 1990
The interaction of Rh2(II)(acetate)4, cis-[Rh(III)(en)2Cl2] Cl (en = ethylenediamine) and [Rh(III) (NH3)5Cl]Cl2 with calf thymus DNA has been studied at various r values [formula; see text] and interaction times. Electronic spectra, melting and cooling curves and sedimentation data indicate no interaction of the acetate complex with DNA, except in the ...

SCREENING OF RH-ANTIBODIES IN RH-NEGATIVE FEMALE INFANTS WITH RH-POSITIVE MOTHERS

Acta Paediatrica, 1981
The sera of 96 consecutive Rh-negative female infants born to Rh-positive mothers were examined at birth, and sera from 88 of these infants were examined for the presence of Rh-antibodies at the ages of about three and eight months. A two-stage papain test and an AutoAnalyzer method were used for antibody screening and identification.

Microdosimetric Characterisation of 28 kVp Mo/Mo, Rh/Rh, Rh/Al, W/Rh and Mo/Rh Mammography X Ray Spectra

Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 2002
Microdosimetric characteristics of 28 kVp mammography X ray spectra were studied for several target/added filtration combinations (Mo/Mo, Rh/Rh, Rh/Al, W/Rh, Mo/Rh). Monte Carlo techniques were used to model X ray production from mammography units and to calculate distributions of absorbed dose and energy imparted in breast tissue.

Rh-Positive Blood for The Rh-Negative Patient

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1972
To the Editor.— The reply of Grove-Rasmussen directed to the question "When May Rh-Negative Patient Receive Transfusion with Rh-Positive Blood?" ( 218 :1580, 1971) failed to cite certain circumstances which should be carefully weighed in making a decision to transfuse the Rh-negative patient with Rh-positive blood.

Immunization of Rh-negative Mother with Rh Antisera

Pediatrics, 1968
After reading Dr. Diamond's article on the history and advances made against erythroblastosis, I am encouraged to submit (with his approval) a copy of a letter dated August 23, 1957, received from Dr. S. Gellis in reply to an idea which came to me about 11 years ago.

THE RH FACTOR IN ABORTION

Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1947
1 x THE literature on the clinical importance of the Rh factor there are many intimations that this factor in the blood is a relatively common cause of abortion. However, only Schwartz and Levine and Javert discussed this possibility in detail. Levine noted that t,he blood of only one in nine women who had experienced two or more spontaneous abortions ...
