RHDV‐2 on the Isle of Man and in the Republic of Ireland
Veterinary Record, 2016WE would like to inform colleagues that we have reached a positive diagnosis (confirmed by sequencing) of rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus variant strain 2 (RHDV-2) infection in a wild rabbit from the Isle of Man and in three pet rabbits from the Republic of Ireland.

Egg yolk IgY against RHDV capsid protein VP60 promotes rabbit defense against RHDV infection
Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology, 2014VP60 capsid protein is the major structural and immunogenicity protein of RHDV (Rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus, RHDV), and has been implicated as a main protein antigen in RHDV diagnosis and vaccine design. In this report, egg yolk antibody (IgY) against N-terminal of VP60 was evaluated and developed as a new strategy for RHDV therapy.

RHDV variant 2 presence detected in Scotland
Veterinary Record, 2014FOLLOWING the recent letter from the AHVLA discussing the emergence of rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus variant strain 2 (RHDV-2) in England (Cornwall, Nottinghamshire, Surrey) and Wales ( VR , March 29, 2014, vol 174, p …

The VP60 protein of rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) is a structural protein with important roles in viral replication and assembly. In this study, we immunized BALB/c mice with the RHDV-TP strain. Six monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) were selected and characterized by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, Western blotting, and indirectly ...

RHDV variant 2 and Capillaria hepatica infection in rabbits
Veterinary Record, 2014FURTHER to the recent reports of rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus variant strain 2 (RHDV-2) in Great Britain (Baily and others 2014, Westcott and others 2014) we wish to report an outbreak that occurred last year in wild rabbits on the island of Skokholm. Skokholm lies 2.5 miles off the coast of south-west Wales.

Electron and immunoelectron microscopy of rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV)
Archives of Virology, 1990Rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) had a calicivirus-like structure and a diameter of 31.5-33.0 nm. Antigenic relationship between the investigated RHDV strain and the causal agent of RHD in China was demonstrated by immunoelectron microscopy.

Spread of new variant RHDV in domestic rabbits on the Iberian Peninsula
Veterinary Microbiology, 2014Rabbit hemorrhagic disease outbreaks in young rabbits have been recently observed in Spain. In this study we have tracked the spread of variant RHDV in samples collected from rabbit farms over a period of more than one year using RT-PCR and antigen-capture ELISA.

Regulatory T cells are decreased in acute RHDV lethal infection of adult rabbits
Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology, 2012Rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) is the etiologic agent of rabbit hemorrhagic disease (RHD), an acute lethal infection that kills 90% of adult rabbits due to severe acute liver inflammation. Interestingly, young rabbits are naturally resistant to RHDV infection. Here, we have compared naturally occurring CD4(+)Foxp3(+) regulatory T cells (Tregs)

Context. European rabbits are serious environmental and agricultural pests throughout their range in Australia. Rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) greatly reduced rabbit numbers in arid central Australia but had less impact in cooler, higher-rainfall areas.

RHDV2 overcoming RHDV immunity in wild rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) in Australia
Veterinary Record, 2017THE emergence of rabbit haemorrhagic disease (RHDV) virus 2 (RHDV2) in Europe (Le Gall-Recule and others 2011) has been associated with declines in wild rabbit ( Oryctolagus cuniculus ) populations (Delibes-Mateos and others 2014, Guerrero-Casado and others 2016, Monterroso and others 2016) previously exposed to RHDV.
