Spin‐Split Edge States in Metal‐Supported Graphene Nanoislands Obtained by CVD

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Combining STM measurements and ab‐initio calculations, we show that zig‐zag edges in graphene nanoislands grown on Ni(111) by CVD retrieve their spin‐polarized edge states after intercalation of a few monolayers of Au. ABSTRACT Spin‐split states localized on zigzag edges have been predicted for different free‐standing graphene nanostructures.

Turning Unpredictable Biomolecule Adsorption to Controlled Corona Formation: Focus on Carbon Nanomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Controlling the protein corona formation onto carbon nanomaterials (CNMs) enhances their functionalities as platforms for cancer theranostics. Here, we reviewed the effects of the intrinsic and acquired properties of CNMs on protein corona formation, the consequent biological and toxicological outcomes, and the strategies to reshape corona formation ...

A comparative study of electrochemical and optical properties of rhenium deposited on gold and platinum

open access: yesJournal of the Brazilian Chemical Society, 2002
Rhenium-containing films were grown on gold and platinum after different potentiostatic and potentiodynamic polarizations in the - 0.20 V to 0.70 V range (vs rhe) in aqueous acid perrhenate.

Designable van der Waals Crystal for Artificial Neuronal Cell Mimicking

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Designable van der Waals crystal has been demonstrated for device‐scale neuronal cell mimicking. The structural similarity between ion‐channel in biological membranes and layered vdW lattices is realized with nano‐crystallization via Ar + H2S plasma sulfurization.

Formation Control of Multi‐Agent System with Local Interaction and Artificial Potential Field

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This article proposes a local interaction‐based formation control method for Multi‐Agent system, integrating consensus and leader‐follower strategies with a stress response mechanism—artificial potential field to reduce communication overhead and enable obstacle avoidance. Experimental results on triangular, square, and hexagonal formations confirm its

Rhenium-Based Molecular Trap as an Evanescent Wave Infrared Chemical Sensing Medium for the Selective Determination of Amines in Air

open access: yes, 2016
An evanescent wave infrared chemical sensor was developed to selectively detect volatile amines with heterocyclic or phenyl ring. To achieve this goal, a rhenium-based metallacycle with a “molecular-trap” structure was designed and synthesized as host ...
