Rheological behavior of magneto-rheological grease (MRG)
SPIE Proceedings, 2007This paper presents an experimental study on the rheological properties of a magneto-rheological (MR) grease. MR fluids and MR greases are materials which consist of micron-size ferrous particles suspended in a carrier fluid. Their material properties such as apparent viscosity and shear stress can be altered dramatically and reversibly when ...

Rheological behavior of mammalian cells
Cellular and Molecular Life Sciences, 2008Rheological properties of living cells determine how cells interact with their mechanical microenvironment and influence their physiological functions. Numerous experimental studies have show that mechanical contractile stress borne by the cytoskeleton and weak power-law viscoelasticity are governing principles of cell rheology, and that the ...

Rheological behavior of organic suspensions of fluorapatite
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2005A fluorapatite suspension prepared in the azeotrope methyl ethyl ketone-ethyl alcohol (MEK:EtOH) in the presence of the phosphoric ester was investigated. Electrical conductivity, adsorption isotherms, and sedimentation technique showed that the amount of phosphoric ester adsorbed on the fluorapatite surface was equal to, or higher than, 1 wt%.

Rheological behavior of glasses
Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1969Viscous flow in glasses is treated for those cases and circumstances in which the combination of the Eyring rate theory and the Cohen and Turnbull free volume theory does not hold. The assumption is made that atoms, being strongly bound to each other, show cooperative effects during flow.

Rheological behavior of gels and meloxicam release
International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2007The aim of this work was to identify a gel with suitable organoleptic and rheological properties (spreadability, texture and viscosity) for topical administration, designed to allow fast release of the active principle. The release of Meloxicam (anti-inflammatory agent) from olive oil lipogels was compared with a Carbopol hydrophilic prepared gel.

Rheologic behavior of deoxyhemoglobin S gels
Journal of Molecular Biology, 1987The physical properties of deoxyhemoglobin S gels formed from solutions at concentrations and temperatures approaching those in vivo have been characterized by stress relaxation using a rotational rheometer. Gels were annealed in the rheometer and then subjected to a constant shear strain; thereafter the stress sustained was followed with time.

Rheological behavior of blood platelets in vivo
Biorheology, 1984Blood platelets labeled in vivo with the fluorochrome acridine red can be localized objectively within a thin optical section, using fluorescence microscopy. This allows the study of the rheological behavior of platelets in vivo as exemplified by the assessment of the concentration distribution and the orientation of platelets flowing in small ...

Rheological Behavior of Titanium Dioxide Suspensions
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2001The rheological properties of titanium dioxide dispersed in water are measured over a wide range of powder concentrations, temperatures, and pH values. The value of intrinsic viscosity of titanium dioxide measured with an Ubbelohde capillary viscometer is 3.55, which is useful for determining the shape and aggregation property of the particles.

RHEOLOGICAL BEHAVIOR OF BENTONITE SUSPENSIONS
Petroleum Science and Technology, 2000ABSTRACT The objective of this research is to investigate the concentration effect on the rheological properties of different bentonite suspensions. Experiments were performed with different bentonite type and concentrations and the results were evaluated by different rheological models (Bingham plastic, Power law, Sisco, Casson, Herchel Bulkley and ...
