We model the cytoskeleton as a fractal network by identifying each segment with a simple Kelvin-Voigt element, with a well defined equilibrium length. The final structure retains the elastic characteristics of a solid or a gel, which may support stress ...

Rheology of polytetrafluoroethylene [PDF]
AbstractThe rheology of polytetrafluoroethylene above its melting point was studied by the technique of stress relaxation. The temperature shift for the maximum relaxation time at various temperatures fits the WLF equation, if the value of Tg is taken to be 110°C. Degradation of the polymer becomes appreciable above 380°C.

Drilling fluids are essential for maintaining cutting suspension during drilling, exhibiting gel-like behavior at rest and liquid-like behavior under shearing. These fluids display shear-thinning behavior, yield stress, and thixotropy.

Yield Stress of Emulsions and Suspensions as Measured in Steady Shearing and in Oscillations
The yield stresses of five samples (two highly concentrated emulsions, two Kaolin dispersions and mayonnaise) were determined in two ways. In one case, steady shear experiments were performed over a range of incrementally decreasing shear rates.

Developing new chemical–rheological models and chemical–durability indices of bitumen [PDF]
Significant correlation among chemical properties, rheological characteristics and durability of bitumen is very important in evaluating and modifying bitumen. However, a number of previous studies found inconsistent correlation.

Nonlinear rheology of polydisperse blends of entangled linear polymers: Rolie-Double-Poly models
While there has been much success in modeling the linear and nonlinear rheology of monodisperse entangled linear polymers, progress in the constitutive modeling of polymeric materials continues to lag behind the needs of industry.
