Rheumatoid nodules predating seroconversion and rheumatoid arthritis : an uncommon case report [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Rheumatoid nodulosis is a benign condition associated with mild or no arthritis. Differently from classical rheumatoid nodules, which are relatively common in patients with long-standing rheumatoid arthritis, particularly in rheumatoid factor (RF ...

Pulmonary Cryptococcosis With Rapid Growth on Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography. [PDF]

open access: yesRespirol Case Rep
A 64‐year‐old woman with rheumatoid arthritis and asthma developed a rapid growth and uptake of 18F‐fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG)‐avid lung nodule. Despite suspicion of malignancy, the biopsy confirmed pulmonary cryptococcosis (PC).

Artificial Intelligence in Systemic Sclerosis: Clinical Applications, Challenges, and Future Directions

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease defined by immune dysregulation, vasculopathy, and progressive fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Despite advances in care, major complications such as interstitial lung disease (ILD) and myocardial involvement remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality.

Clinical misdiagnosis of Morton's Neuroma: a case of early rheumatoid arthritis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
A fit and apparently healthy male patient presents with symptoms and clinical signs consistent with a Morton's neuroma. Following excisional surgery, histopathology confirms the lesion as a rheumatoid nodule; this proves to be the presenting feature of ...

Real‐World Safety and Effectiveness of JAK Inhibitors in Systemic Sclerosis: A Propensity‐Matched Study From the EUSTAR Cohort

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective JAK inhibitors (JAKi) have shown promising effects in early‐phase studies of systemic sclerosis (SSc). We aimed to assess the safety and explore the effectiveness of JAKi compared to conventional immunosuppressants in SSc. Methods A longitudinal retrospective study of the European Scleroderma Trials and Research Group (EUSTAR) cohort was ...

An Implantable Optogenetics‐Engineered Hydrogel for Amelioration of Rheumatoid Arthritis through Light‐Controlled Metabolic Reprogramming of Synovial Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An implantable hydrogel is designed to enable in situ and on‐demand secretion of GLP‐1 in synovium through blue light irradiation to activate GLP‐1R/HK2/VDAC1 pathway for upregulating tricarboxylic acid cycle and oxidative phosphorylation in macrophage, facilitating tissue repair and bone erosion recovery.

Deep Learning Network‐Tailored Microenvironment Matching of 4D Bioprinting Bioactive Scaffolds for Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A DLN dataset was built to analyze MABS composition versus in vitro/in vivo osteogenesis and angiogenesis. An MLP neural network, taking BG morphological parameters as input, extracts bioactive features from these datasets. A rabbit tibial defect model then validates 4D‐printed MABS for adaptability and bone regeneration in critical defects.
