An Afrotropical species whose adults have been found on Artiodactyla: Bovidae, Carnivora: Canidae and Felidae, and Perissodactyla: Equidae; nymphs alone have been collected from Rodentia: Muridae. There are no records of Rhipicephalus capensis causing human parasitism.
