Translation, cross-cultural adaptation, and validation of the 10-item spine functional index (SFI-10) in the Brazilians with musculoskeletal spine disorders

open access: yesBMC Musculoskeletal Disorders
Purpose To translate and cross-culturally adapt the Spine Functional Index (SFI) into Brazilian Portuguese (SFI-Br) in individuals with musculoskeletal spine disorders. Methods Participants (n=194) answered the Numerical Pain Rating Scale (NPRS), 36-item

Isovector form factors and the rho-prime

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1972
Abstract A simple but successful pole model for the low q 2 behaviour of the pion, ΔNγ and nucleon isovector form factors is given, using the Dirac form factors in the latter case. The rho-prime required decouples completely from charge form factors, so that its only two body decay mode is ωπ.

Thalamo‐Lesional Connectivity Signatures of Bilateral Tonic–Clonic Seizures in Focal Cortical Dysplasia‐Related Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) is the most common etiology of drug‐resistant epilepsy in children. Focal to bilateral tonic–clonic seizures (FBTCS) mark a high risk of drug‐resistant epilepsy and involve thalamocortical circuitry in their generation and propagation.

Characterizing Cutaneous α‐Synuclein Deposition and Seeding Activity in Parkinson's Disease Subtypes

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cutaneous phosphorylated α‐synuclein (p‐syn) and α‐synuclein seeding activity are promising biomarkers for Parkinson's disease (PD), but their clinical value remains uncertain due to disease heterogeneity. This study evaluates these two biomarkers in PD patients to inform phenotype‐specific diagnosis and disease severity assessment ...

Scalar Form Factor of the Pion in the Kroll-Lee-Zumino Field Theory

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2015
The renormalizable Kroll-Lee-Zumino field theory of pions and a neutral rho-meson is used to determine the scalar form factor of the pion in the space-like region at next-to-leading order.

Comparative Analysis of Choroid Plexus Volume Between MOG Antibody Associated Disease and Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Choroid plexus volume (CPV) has been proposed as a neuro‐immunological marker of multiple sclerosis (MS), but its relevance in myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody–associated disease (MOGAD) remains uncertain. We analyzed CPV in 43 individuals with MOGAD, 48 with MS, and 44 healthy controls using a Bayesian Gaussian mixture modeling ...

Activation of Rac-1 and RhoA contributes to podocyte injury in chronic kidney disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Rho-family GTPases like RhoA and Rac-1 are potent regulators of cellular signaling that control gene expression, migration and inflammation. Activation of Rho-GTPases has been linked to podocyte dysfunction, a feature of chronic kidney diseases (CKD). We
