An Arizona race nearest to reakirtii Edw. in which the under side design of the secondaries is uniformly dense, dark olive green and the cell bar on the upper side primaries is noticeably thick, rectangular, clear cut and conspicuously black, forming on the reverse side of the wing clear-cut, dart-shaped spots.

Faunal associations of the Rhopalocera of Japan

The associations of the butterfly fauna of the Japanese islands of Hokkaido, Honshu, Kyushu, Shikoku and Ryukyu Rett are analysed with respect to one another and to the fauna of the far-east U.S.S.R. A faunal discontinuity exists between the fauna of Ryukyu Rett and all other areas.
