Is Paw Preference in Rats Influenced by Environmental Novelty?

open access: yesEthology, EarlyView.
This study aimed to investigate the effect of environmental novelty during adolescence and adulthood on the paw preference in rats. Therefore, rats experienced a regular enrichment change and were repeatedly tested for their paw preference. We found that a regular enrichment change did not alter their behavioural lateralisation.

Metallomic characterization of induced periapical lesions—In vivo study

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Aim Metals are essential for metabolism and play a crucial role in various biological processes. Therefore, the aim of this study was to characterize and compare the metallomic profiles of periapical lesions and healthy alveolar bone in rats using complementary analytical techniques.

From Genes to Shapes: Exploring Local Adaptation in Carpathian Ox‐Eye Daisies

open access: yesJournal of Biogeography, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim Historical processes have shaped the Carpathian biogeography, yet ongoing evolutionary forces continue to drive population differentiation. We aimed to test whether local adaptation in the Carpathian subendemic Leucanthemum rotundifolium correlates with genetic, morphological and environmental factors, and to assess how these patterns ...

The cholesterol‐HDL‐glucose (CHG) index and traditional adiposity markers in predicting diabetic retinopathy and nephropathy

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
This study explores the association of visceral adiposity index (VAI) and lipid accumulation product (LAP), markers of visceral adiposity, with diabetic nephropathy and retinopathy. The findings revealed that VAI and LAP values were significantly elevated in diabetic nephropathy but showed no significant association with diabetic retinopathy.
