Divergent Total Synthesis of Denudatine Alkaloids Cochlearenine, Macrocentrine, Dictizine, 15‐Veratroyl‐17‐Acetyl‐19‐Oxodictizine, and the Proposed Structure of Acochlearine

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 4, 22 January 2026.
An intramolecular Mannich reaction (A/B/E/F rings) and intermolecular Diels–Alder reactions (C/D rings) afforded a cage‐like hexacyclic core skeleton of denudatine alkaloids. Derivatization of the hexacyclic intermediate enabled the first asymmetric total syntheses of four denudatine alkaloids: (–)‐cochlearenine, (–)‐macrocentrine, (–)‐dictizine, and (–

Whitings in the Red Sea

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, Volume 12, Issue 1, February 2026.
We present the first documentation of whitings in the Red Sea, observed in a lagoonal environment. These events are linked to cascading offshore dense waters that liberate trapped sea floor nutrients, triggering algal blooms and elevating alkalinity, which is buffered by direct CaCO3 precipitation—contributing to the accumulation of aragonite mud in ...

Resistance mechanisms in collard green genotypes to Plutella xylostella: role of physical and morphological traits

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 2, Page 1974-1984, February 2026.
Resistance to Plutella xylostella in collard greens is mediated by antixenosis and antibiosis, associated with traits such as leaf wax, hardness, and color. Genotypes showed strong resistance potential, supporting their use in breeding and integrated pest management strategies. Abstract BACKGROUND The diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella (Lepidoptera:

Primary Cutaneous B‐Cell Lymphomas: An Updated Portrait of Classification, Biology, and Clinical Management

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Haematology, Volume 116, Issue 2, Page 116-128, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Primary cutaneous B‐cell lymphomas (CBCL) represent a clinically and biologically heterogeneous group of extranodal non‐Hodgkin lymphomas confined to the skin at the time of diagnosis. They account for approximately 25% of all primary cutaneous lymphomas and are subclassified into distinct entities according to the World Health Organization ...

Secondary Somatosensory Cortex Is Required for Learning but Not Execution of a Tactile Discrimination

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 63, Issue 3, February 2026.
The relationship between primary somatosensory cortex (S1) and secondary somatosensory cortex (S2) during learning is not clear. Here, we show that when confronted with a texture discrimination using the whiskers, S2 is required during learning but not after learning.
