Insulin‐like growth factor 1 receptor correlates with verbal memory in ILAE type 2 hippocampal sclerosis

Abstract Objective Long‐term memory deficits are often seen in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE). Recently, studies showed that patients with hippocampal sclerosis (HS) type 2, which presents with severe neuron loss in CA1 only, performed within the normal range. However, up to 30% of HS type 2 cases have memory deficits.

Performance Assessment of the Immersed Boundary Method in the Framework of the Moment Representation Lattice Boltzmann Method

The immersed boundary method (IBM) was coupled with the moment representation lattice Boltzmann method (MR‐LBM), reducing bandwidth requirements compared to population‐based LBM formulations. A systematic assessment of IBM parameters was conducted to quantify their effect on computational performance.

Evidence From Microscopy and U–Pb Geochronology as a Clue to the Influence of the Cretaceous Magmatism in the Diagenesis of Pre‐Salt Carbonate Reservoirs in the Santos Basin (Brazil)

Carbonates from Santos Basin revealed U–Pb ages correlated with basalt ages (A), suggesting that they were formed during magmatic events. These events placed hot CO2 in the reservoir, which, when mixed with carbonate‐rich cold water (B), led to thermal convection, enabling the formation of the U contained in the carbonates.
