On the existence of solutions of the Riccati differential equation

Systems and Control Letters, 1987
A characterization of finite escape times in the time-varying Riccati equations using its representation as the flow of a right invariant vector field on Lagrangian Grassmann manifold is obtained. The results also are applied to the indefinite and time-varying cases.
