Algebraic classification of spacetimes using discriminating scalar curvature invariants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The Weyl and Ricci tensors can be algebraically classified in a Lorentzian spacetime of arbitrary dimensions using alignment theory. Used in tandem with the boost weight decomposition and curvature operators, the algebraic classification of the Weyl ...

Concerning the existence of Einstein and Ricci soliton metrics on solvable Lie groups

open access: yes, 2010
In this work we investigate solvable and nilpotent Lie groups with special metrics. The metrics of interest are left-invariant Einstein and algebraic Ricci soliton metrics.

On the regular-convexity of Ricci shrinker limit spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In this paper, we study the structure of the pointed-Gromov-Hausdorff limits of sequences of Ricci shrinkers. We define a regular-singular decomposition following the work of Cheeger-Colding for manifolds with a uniform Ricci curvature lower bound, and ...

Degree theory for 4‐dimensional asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
Abstract We develop a new degree theory for 4‐dimensional, asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons. Our theory implies the existence of gradient expanding solitons that are asymptotic to any given cone over S3$S^3$ with non‐negative scalar curvature. We also obtain a similar existence result for cones whose link is diffeomorphic to S3/Γ$S^3/\

On almost η-Ricci-Bourguignon solitons

open access: yesMiskolc Mathematical Notes
We investigate a Riemannian manifold with almost η-Ricci-Bourguignon soliton structure. We use the Hodge-de Rham decomposition theorem to make a link with the associated vector field of an almost η-Ricci-Bourguignon soliton.

The Ricci pinching functional on solvmanifolds II [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 2019
. It is natural to ask whether solvsolitons are global maxima for the Ricci pinching functional F := scal 2 | Ric | 2 on the set of all left-invariant metrics on a given solvable Lie group S , as it is to ask whether they are the only global maxima.

A Label‐Free Hyperspectral Imaging Device for Ex Vivo Characterization and Grading of Meningioma Tissues

open access: yesJournal of Biophotonics, EarlyView.
HyperProbe1.1 enables rapid, label‐free biochemical mapping of freshly resected meningiomas. By quantifying endogenous biomarkers such as cytochrome c oxidase, hemoglobin derivatives, and lipids, the system reveals molecular signatures consistent with tumor grading and generates spatial maps that visualize metabolic and vascular heterogeneity across ...

Ricci flow with surgery in higher dimensions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We present a new curvature condition which is preserved by the Ricci flow in higher dimensions. For initial metrics satisfying this condition, we establish a higher dimensional version of Hamilton's neck-like curvature pinching estimate.

Representation of obligate groundwater‐dwelling copepod diversity in European protected areas

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Groundwaters sustain diverse surface ecosystems and are populated by metazoan species, mostly invertebrates, that provide fundamental ecological functions and are often of prominent conservation value due to narrow endemism and high phylogenetic rarity.

Characterizations of Pseudo-Symmetric Space–Times in Gray’s Subspaces and f(R)-Gravity Vacuum Solutions

open access: yesMathematics
This paper investigates pseudo-symmetric space–times within two interrelated frameworks: vacuum f(R)-gravity and Gray’s seven canonical decomposition subspaces. First, it is established that any conformally flat pseudo-symmetric space–time satisfying the
