Evidence of recombination and genetic diversity in southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus

Archives of Virology, 2013
Southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus (SRBSDV) causes one of the most serious viral diseases of rice in China and Vietnam. Sequence identities of S10, encoding the major capsid protein, were 98.0 %-100 % and 98.3 %-100 % at the nucleotide and amino acid level, respectively.

Methodology for antibody preparation and detection of southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus

Archives of Virology, 2012
Southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus (SRBSDV) is a member of the genus Fijivirus of the family Reoviridae that causes a devastating disease in rice. Seven polypeptide fragments of the Putative uncharacterized protein (Pup) and the P10 proteins of SRBSDV were designed, synthesized, and used to immunize rabbits.

Phylogenetic and recombination analysis of rice black-streaked dwarf virus segment 9 in China

Archives of Virology, 2015
Rice black-streaked dwarf virus (RBSDV) is an economically important virus that causes maize rough dwarf disease and rice black-streaked dwarf disease in East Asia. To study RBSDV variation and recombination, we examined the segment 9 (S9) sequences of 49 RBSDV isolates from maize and rice in China. Three S9 recombinants were detected in Baoding, Jinan,

Investigation and characterization of rice dwarfing epidemic caused by southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus in Jiangsu in 2023

Virology
During the field surveys in Jiangsu Province, China, contiguous patches of rice plants with varying degrees of dwarfing, wax-white or dark brown enations at the base of stems, and abnormal heading symptoms were observed in the fields located in Jiangning District in Nanjing City, Jurong County in Zhenjiang City, and Zhangjiagang County in Suzhou City ...

Identification of the Coexisting Virus-Derived siRNA in Maize and Rice Infected by Rice Black-Streaked Dwarf Virus

Plant Disease
Rice black-streaked dwarf virus is transmitted by small brown planthoppers, which causes maize rough dwarf disease and rice black-streaked dwarf disease. This virus leads to slow growth or death of the host plants. During the coevolutionary arms race between viruses and plants, virus-derived small interfering RNAs (vsiRNAs) challenge the plant’s ...
