Abstract The properties of rice black-streaked dwarf virus (RBSDV) were investigated by injection into insect vectors. The virus was inactivated by heating to 60°or 10 min, and no infectivity resulted when inocula prepared from either infected rice leaf or viruliferous insect extracts were diluted to 10−5 and 10−6, respectively.
