Pathotype Classification of Korean Rice Blast Isolates Using Monogenic Lines for Rice Blast Resistance

open access: yesResearch in Plant Disease, 2017
The rice blast fungus is a representative model phytopathogenic fungus in which Gene-for-Gene interaction with host rice is applicable. After 1980, eight differential varieties have been constructed and classified to analyze the race of rice blast isolates in Korea.

How can children and young people have a voice in urban treescapes?

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract Scientific understanding of climate change has, to date, failed to result in sufficient action. This paper proposes that a deficit model of top‐down learning and dissemination in relation to public engagement with science may be part of the problem, particularly when considering the attitudes, values and empowerment of children and young ...

Biochemical Studies on the Rice Blast Disease

open access: yesJournal of the agricultural chemical society of Japan, 1957

Breeding for multi‐stress resilience in crops: Myth or possibility?

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Climate change threatens millions of farmers worldwide by exposing crops to multiple concurrent or sequential environmental stresses such as drought, heat, waterlogging, and diseases. Although crops have long been selected under naturally occurring multi‐stress conditions, breeding pipelines largely focus on optimal or single‐stress environments ...

Development and application of KASP assays to differentiate between Sorghum bicolor, halepense, and their hybrids

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
A panel showing the morphological differences between Sorghum halepense (A), hybrids (B), and Sorghum bicolor (C) with a novel KASP‐based genetic assay capable of reliably distinguishing between them. Partially Created in BioRender. https://BioRender.com/1u30ukv Abstract BACKGROUND Sorghum bicolor and Sorghum halepense can readily hybridize, creating ...

Residue dynamics and dietary risks of diflufenican and flufenacet in wheat using field experiments and model simulations

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Combining field trials with model simulations allows for an effective and efficient evaluation of residues of herbicides diflufenican and flufenacet in wheat and related dietary risks for humans. Abstract BACKGROUND Pesticide usage and related food safety and human health concerns have received great attention worldwide.

The continuing significance of chiral agrochemicals

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 1697-1716, April 2025.
In the time frame 2018–2023, around 43% of the 35 chiral agrochemicals introduced to the market (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, acaricides, and nematicides) contain one or more stereogenic centers in the molecule, and almost 69% of them have been marketed as racemic mixtures of enantiomers or stereoisomers.

The OsSAPK10-OsPAL1 module contributes to rice blast resistance

open access: yesCrop Journal
The SnRK2 gene family plays important roles in ABA mediated abiotic stress responses. However, the roles and functional mechanism of the SnRK2 gene family in plant immunity are largely unknown.
