Potential applications of rice husk ash waste from rice husk biomass power plant

Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, 2016
Abstract Rice husk (RH), an agricultural waste, is abundantly available in rice producing countries like China, India, Bangladesh, Brazil, US, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, and South East Asia. Despite the massive amount of annual production worldwide, so far RHs have been recycled only for low-value applications.

Test of microwave absorber of rice husk and burned rice husk

2017 International Conference on Advanced Mechatronics, Intelligent Manufacture, and Industrial Automation (ICAMIMIA), 2017
This paper studies about the performance test against rice husk and burned rice husk material as a microwave absorber material. The nature of this microwave absorber is tested in frequency of 2 GHz 4 GHz with the method of free space measurement to obtain the value of reflection loss.

Rice husk ash

1998
The properties of plastics can be significantly modified by the incorporation of fillers. Rice husk ash (RHA) fillers are derived from rice husks, which are usually regarded as agricultural waste and an environmental hazard. Rice husk, when burnt in open air outside the rice mill, yields two types of ash that can serve as fillers in plastics materials.

Rice Husk Ash

2011
Rice husk ash (RHA) is generated by burning rice husk. On burning, cellulose and lignin are removed leaving behind silica ash. The controlled temperature and environment of burning yields better quality of rice-husk ash as its particle size and specific surface area are dependent on burning condition.

Rice Husk Ash

2017
This chapter reviews the performance of rice husk ash (RHA) as partial cement replace in ordinary Portland cement concrete. After pyroprocessing with controlled combustion, highly pozzolanic RHA can be produced. Due to the high specific surface area and pozzolanic properties, RHA shows very good performance as a supplementary cementitious material in ...

Synthesis and Characterization of Antibacterial Silver Nanoparticle-Impregnated Rice Husks and Rice Husk Ash

Environmental Science & Technology, 2013
Silver nanoparticle (AgNP)-impregnated rice husks/rice hush ash (RHs/RHA) were successfully synthesized, and their potential application as antibacterial materials in water disinfection was investigated with particular attention given to the use of both white rice husk ash (WRHA) and black rice husk ash (BRHA) produced by the combustion of RHs as AgNP ...
