Infectivity of Rice Viruses to the Varieties Resistant to Rice Stripe Virus.
Rice varieties “Musashi-kogane”, “Tamaminori” and “Tamahonami” which have St2igene for resistance to rice stripe virus (RSV), showed resistance to RSV infection, but no resistance to virus multiplication. Furthermore, the vector Laodelphax striatellus acquired the virus readily on infected “Musashi-kogane” plants as did on susceptible “Nipponbare ...

CitPH4 Confers Resistance to Citrus Canker by Activating Papain‐Like Cysteine Protease
ABSTRACT Citrus canker, a devastating disease caused by Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri (Xcc), poses a significant threat to global citrus production due to the high susceptibility of nearly all commercial citrus cultivars to it. Although transcription factor Citrus PH4 (CitPH4) is well known for regulating fruit acidity, its potential role in plant ...

Use of DNA-based genetic markers in plant breeding [PDF]
Genetic markers have been used since the beginnings of plant breeding, but the concept of linkage and recently the availability of molecular markers have offered new and powerful tools that can help to perform the traditional tasks of selection or that ...

Multiple QTL for horticultural traits and quantitative resistance to Phytophthora infestans linked on Solanum habrochaites chromosome 11. [PDF]
Previously, a Phytophthora infestans resistance QTL from Solanum habrochaites chromosome 11 was introgressed into cultivated tomato (S. lycopersicum). Fine mapping of this resistance QTL using near-isogenic lines (NILs) revealed some co-located QTL with ...

Unfolding Plant Defence: Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress Signalling at the Plant‐Pathogen Interface
ABSTRACT The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress response, a conserved proteostasis network, has emerged as a central hub that reprograms plant immunity during pathogen attack. This review synthesises how plants harness ER‐stress signalling to mount multilayered defences and how pathogens have evolved counterstrategies to subvert these pathways.

Three ribonucleic acids associated with rice stripe virus.
Purified rice stripe virus preparation contains three RNA species whose molecular weights were determined as 1.4×106, 1.0×106 and 0.9×106 in the polyacrylamide gel electrophoretic analysis under the 7M urea-denatured conditions. These RNAs were linear molecules with length distribution from 1.2μm to 0.2μm, as observed by electron microscope.

ABSTRACT Striped stem borer (SSB; Chilo suppressalis Walker) is one of the most destructive pests in rice production. Previous studies have demonstrated that SSB infestation induces transcription of OsT5H (tryptamine‐5‐hydroxylase) and biosynthesis of serotonin, a newly recognised phytohormone, and that disruption of serotonin biosynthesis ...

Occurrence of Viruses Infecting Foxtail Millet (Setaria italica) in South Korea
In 2015, a nationwide survey was carried out to investigate about occurrence pattern of virus infecting foxtail millet. A total 100 foxtail millet leaf samples showing virus-like and abnormal symptoms were collected in the seven main cultivated regions ...
