New Alternate Host of Rice stripe virus - 'Deulmuksae' [PDF]

open access: yesResearch in Plant Disease, 2009
Rice stripe virus (RSV) is one of Tenuivirus Group, which is carried by small brown planthopper. There is an outbreak of RSV in South Korea at 20Ot, and 2007. The infection caused by RSV had been investigated on weeds around the rice cultivated areas 13 region and 26 site including Jeonbuk Buan and Chungnam Seocheon.

First report of Rice stripe necrosis virus infecting rice in Sierra Leone [PDF]

open access: yesNew Disease Reports, 2020
While Rice stripe necrosis virus (RSNV, Benyvirus, Benyviridae) has been reported on rice plants on two continents, little is known about the diversity of this multipartite virus which is transmitted by the plasmodiophorid protist Polymyxa…

Detection of Rice Stripe Virus using RT-PCR [PDF]

open access: yesResearch in Plant Disease, 2004
Until now, occurrence of rice stripe virus (RSV) is limitted in southern part of Korea. However, recently the occurrence of RSV is increased and spreaded in central part of Korea including Chungcheong and Kyonggi province. It is very difficult to distinguish RSV symptoms on virus symptom physiological damage of rice.

Virus resistance obtained in transgenic tobacco and rice by RNA interference using promoters with distinct activity

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2012
To induce virus resistance in tobacco and rice we constructed hairpin RNA expression system harbouring inverted repeat fragments of coat protein cDNA of Potato virus Y (PVY) or Rice stripe virus (RSV).

Unusual features of pomoviral RNA movement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This work is partially supported by the Scottish Government’s Rural and Environment Science and Analytical Services (RESAS) DivisionPotato mop-top pomovirus (PMTV) is one of a few viruses that can move systemically in plants in the absence of the capsid ...

Different viral effectors suppress hormone-mediated antiviral immunity of rice coordinated by OsNPR1

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Salicylic acid (SA) and jasmonic acid (JA) are plant hormones that typically act antagonistically in dicotyledonous plants and SA and JA signaling is often manipulated by pathogens.

Massively parallel pyrosequencing-based transcriptome analyses of small brown planthopper (Laodelphax striatellus), a vector insect transmitting rice stripe virus (RSV) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Background The small brown planthopper (Laodelphax striatellus) is an important agricultural pest that not only damages rice plants by sap-sucking, but also acts as a vector that transmits rice stripe virus (RSV), which can cause even more serious yield ...

Simple and Rapid Detection for Rice stripe virus Using RT-PCR and Porous Ceramic Cubes

open access: yesResearch in Plant Disease, 2015
A rapid and simple RT-PCR diagnosis method for detection of Rice stripe virus (RSV), one of major virus infecting rice, was developed using porous ceramic cubes in this study.

Rice Gall Dwarf Virus Promotes the Propagation and Transmission of Rice Stripe Mosaic Virus by Co-infected Insect Vectors

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2022
Rice stripe mosaic virus (RSMV), a newly discovered plant cytorhabdovirus, and rice gall dwarf virus (RGDV), a plant reovirus, are transmitted by leafhopper Recilia dorsalis in a persistent-propagative manner. In this study, field surveys in Luoding city,
