LsFAMeT and LsJHAMT coordinate JH biosynthesis to regulate fecundity in Laodelphax striatellus
The small brown planthopper (SBPH), Laodelphax striatellus, can trigger large‐scale outbreaks when encountering suitable habitats during migration due to their strong reproductive ability. This study investigated the role of juvenile hormone (JH) in regulating SBPH reproduction.

Comprehensive transcriptomics and proteomics analyses of rice stripe virus-resistant transgenic rice
Stable transgenic rice line (named KRSV-1) with strong resistance against rice stripe virus was generated using the gene sequence of disease-specific protein by RNA interference. Comprehensive safety assessment of transgenic plants has turned into a significant field of genetic modification food safety.

The rice aldehyde dehydrogenase OsALDH2B1 enhances grain size and tolerance to alkaline soil by repressing GRAIN SIZE 3 and activating catalases. SERL1‐mediated phosphorylation stabilizes OsALDH2B1 under stress, establishing a signaling axis that overcomes growth‐defense trade‐offs and provides a direct target for breeding high‐yield, alkaline ...

Genetic diversity and population structure of rice stripe virus in China
Rice stripe virus (RSV) is one of the most economically important pathogens of rice and is repeatedly epidemic in China, Japan and Korea. The most recent outbreak of RSV in eastern China in 2000 caused significant losses and raised serious concerns.

Plant phosphate (Pi) homeostasis relies on coordinated activities of the inositol polyphosphate kinases IPK1 and ITPK1, which balance localized InsP7 biosynthesis to control COP9 signalosome (CSN)‐dependent deneddylation of cullin 1 (CUL1). Perturbation of this equilibrium affects the stability of SPX4, a key negative regulator of phosphate starvation ...

Hulless barley resists the newly identified sheath rot disease caused by the necrotrophic fungal pathogen Dactylobotrys graminicola by releasing coniferyl aldehyde, a natural compound that disrupts energy production in the fungus. ABSTRACT Dactylobotrys graminicola (Dgr), a necrotrophic fungal pathogen, has recently been identified as the causative ...

Accelerated development of rice stripe virus-resistant, near-isogenic rice lines through marker-assisted backcrossing. [PDF]
The development of new improved varieties is one of the major goals of plant breeding. Concomitantly, the demand for stable, eco-friendly, and high-quality rice production is constantly increasing.
