Numerical simulations of compressible Rayleigh-Taylor turbulence in stratified fluids

open access: yes, 2010
We present results from numerical simulations of Rayleigh-Taylor turbulence, performed using a recently proposed lattice Boltzmann method able to describe consistently a thermal compressible flow subject to an external forcing.

RICERCA E VALIDAZIONE DI SNP IN GENI CANDIDATI PER LA QUALIT DELLA CARNE E APPLICAZIONE DELL'ANALISI GENOMICA ALLA SPECIE SUINA

open access: yes, 2010
An important aim of pig selection in Italy is to obtain animals having a high aptitude for the PDO dry-cured ham production, such as Parma or S. Daniele ham. Over the past years, advances in the porcine genetic map have led to valuable gene and trait information being discovered.

Stereochemical Modulation of Palladacyclopentadienyl Complexes Bearing Diphosphine Ligands: A Key to Enhanced DNA Interaction and Anticancer Activity

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
A modular library of structurally robust palladacyclopentadienyl Pd(II) complexes bearing achiral and chiral diphosphines was developed, revealing a strong influence of diphosphine design and ligand chirality on cytotoxicity and selectivity against ovarian cancer cells, including platinum‐resistant models.

Examining New Donors in the OECD's Development Assistance Committee

open access: yesJournal of International Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT How do emerging donors integrate into the existing international aid architecture? Renormalization Group Approach to Spin Glass Systems

open access: yes, 2000
A renormalization group transformation suitable for spin glass models and, more generally, for disordered models, is presented. The procedure is non-standard in both the nature of the additional interactions and the coarse graining transformation, that ...

A Comparative Study of IVIM‐MRI Fitting Techniques in Glioma Grading: Conventional, Bayesian, and Voxel‐Wise and Spatially‐Aware Deep Learning Approaches

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) analysis of diffusion‐weighted MRI (DWI) provides microvascular perfusion and diffusion information. However, parameter estimation is limited by noise sensitivity, variability across fitting methods, and lack of standardization.

Quantitative Assessment of Visible Nigrosome‐1 in Patients with Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The nigrosome‐1 (N1) sign on susceptibility‐weighted imaging (SWI) typically disappears in Parkinson's disease (PD), though some patients can show uni−/bilaterally preserved N1. Objective Investigating whether visible nigrosomes in PD patients differ from those of healthy subjects (HC). Methods Forty‐eight PD and 35 HC underwent 3 T‐
