Error Probability for Coherent Modulations in Rician Fading Channel

open access: yesInternational Journal of Interdisciplinary Telecommunications and Networking, 2009
Simple closed-form solutions for the average error rate of several coherent modulation schemes including square M-QAM, DBPSK and QPSK operating over slow flat Rician fading channel are derived. Starting from a novel unified expression of conditional error probability the error rates are analysed using PDF based approach.

Cross-packing lattices for the Rician fading channel [PDF]

open access: yes2015 IEEE Information Theory Workshop (ITW), 2015
We introduce cross-packing lattices for Rician fading channels, motivated by a geometric interpretation stemming from the pairwise error probability analysis. We approximate the star bodies arising from the pairwise error probability analysis with n-dimensional crosses of radius t, consisting of 2nt + 1 unit cubes, for some positive integer t.

Massive MIMO With Spatially Correlated Rician Fading Channels [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Communications, 2019
This paper considers multi-cell Massive MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) systems where the channels are spatially correlated Rician fading. The channel model is composed of a deterministic line-of-sight (LoS) path and a stochastic non-line-of-sight (NLoS) component describing a practical spatially correlated multipath environment.

Effective rate analysis of MISO Rician fading channels [PDF]

open access: yes2012 IEEE 7th Sensor Array and Multichannel Signal Processing Workshop (SAM), 2012
The delay constraints imposed by future wireless applications require a suitable metric for assessing their impact on the overall system performance. Since the classical Shannon's ergodic capacity fails to do so, the so-called effective rate was recently established as a rigorous alternative.

Performance Analysis of Dense Small Cell Networks With Practical Antenna Heights Under Rician Fading

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
In this paper, we examine the combined impacts of distance-dependent Rician fading channel model and the absolute difference between the heights of base station (BS) and user equipment (UE) antennas on the coverage probability and the area spectral ...

Energy-Efficient Index Modulation With In-Phase/Quadrature Format in the Generalized Fading Channel

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Dual-mode (DM) or multi-mode (MM) index modulation (IM) techniques with the in-phase/quadrature (IQ) format have been investigated for improving the performance of the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing with IM (OFDM-IM) system in the frequency ...

Error-bound formulation for multichannel reception of M-DPSK and pilot-aided M-PSK over Rayleigh-fading channels with postdetection combining [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Upper bounds for symbol-error probability are developed for multichannel reception of M-ary phase-shift keying (M-PSK) over frequency-flat Rayleigh-fading channels.

Differential space-time modulation schemes for smart antenna aided generalized multicarrier DS-CDMA systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
—Differential space-time modulation (DSTM) schemes were proposed for detection without any knowledge of the Channel State Information (CSI), which is an attractive feature in the presence of fast fading channels, where accurate channel estimation is a ...

On the Bit Error Probability and the Spectral Efficiency of Opportunistic Wireless Transmissions in Rician Fading Channels

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Opportunistic systems take advantage of the wireless communication channel random behavior, since transmission is made only when fading amplitude is above a threshold value, which is calculated based on a transmission probability.

Copulas for statistical signal processing (Part I) : extensions and generalization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Existing works on multivariate distributions mainly focus on limited distribution functions and require that the associated marginal distributions belong to the same family. Although this simplifies problems, it may fail to deal with practical cases when
