Rickettsia as an agent of neglected Rickettsia infection

Rickettsia is an obligate parasite of certain arthropods (especially ticks, mites, and ticks) and can cause serious diseases. OmpA dan OmpB is a surface protein that facilitates Rickettsia’s fast attachment and entry into the endothelium. Clinical symptoms are usually characterized by self-limited acute fever in both humans and other animals.

Rickettsia typhi Infection Presenting as Subacute Meningitis

We report two children with Rickettsia typhi infection presenting with mild central nervous system manifestations and pleocytosis in cerebrospinal fluid. [Meningitis revealing Rickettsia typhi infection].

Neurological manifestations are rarely observed in murine typhus. We present a case of meningitis caused by Rickettsia typhi.We report a case of Tunisian 57-year-old woman admitted for suspicion of meningitis. Clinical examination revealed fever at 39,5 degrees C and nuchal rigidity.

[Pulmonary hypertension following Rickettsia infection?].
