Ricerca di Rickettsia del gruppo "Spotted Fever" in zecche antropofile raccolte in Toscana e Liguria [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Several tick-borne rickettsiae cause human diseases and, in the last years, the increased use of molecular-based identification methods has resulted in new spotted fever group rickettsiae being characterized in ixodid ticks throughout Europe.

New data on the pathogenicity of genotype of Rickettsia sibirica subspecies BJ-90

open access: yesEpidemiology and Infectious Diseases, 2014
New data about pathogenicity of Rickettsia sibirica subspecies BJ-90 were obtained. Rickettsial strains of this subspecies from the Primorye region were pathogenic for guinea pigs and chick embryos, multiplied in cell cultures Vero E6. Antibodies against Rickettsia sibirica subspecies BJ-90 in ELISA were detected in the Omsk region in patients with ...

Ultrastructure of Rickettsia sibirica during interaction with the host cell.

open access: yesActa virologica, 1987
Rickettsia sibirica (strain Netsvetaev) was found within large translucent spaces in the cytoplasm of L-929 cell monolayer cultures on day 6 postinfection (p.i.). These rickettsiae were rod shaped 0.3 X 10 microns in size encircled by a halo of up to 200 nm wide corresponding to a capsule-like coat.
