[Rickettsiaceae infections and fluoroquinolones].

Pathologie-biologie, 1988
Twenty nine patients with Rickettsiosis (Tick born fever, n: 22, Q fever, n: 7) has been treated with fluoroquinolones. These compounds was used alone n: 25 (Pefloxacin, n: 15; Ofloxacin, n: 10) or associated n: 4 (Pefloxacin + Rifampin). The general efficacy was excellent. Common Tick born fever and pulmonary forms of Q fever was fast cured.

An initial survey for Wolbachia (Rickettsiales: Rickettsiaceae) infections in selected California mosquitoes (Diptera: Culicidae).

Journal of medical entomology, 2004
Knowledge of biogeographic variation in Wolbachia infection rates and inferred susceptibility to infection among different mosquito taxa has fundamental implications for the design and successful application of Wolbachia-based vector-borne disease control strategies.

Adaptive Immune Responses to Infection and Opportunities for Vaccine Development (Rickettsiaceae)

2014
Genera belonging to the family Rickettsiaceae, Rickettsia and Orientia, include human pathogens. The diseases they cause are referred to as rickettsioses in this chapter. They share three critical factors with implications in pathogenesis and immunity: (i) they are transmitted by arthropod vectors; (ii) they are obligate intracellular bacteria that ...

Establishment of Orientia tsutsugamushi Lc-1 (Rickettsiales: Rickettsiaceae) infection in ICR outbred mice (Rodentia: Muridae) by needle challenge.

Journal of medical entomology, 2014
Orientia tsutsugamushi is a pathogen transmitted by Leptotrombidium that causes scrub typhus. To develop an infection mouse model, a mite-derived isolate of O. tsutsugamushi was established from a laboratory-maintained colony of Leptotrombidium chiangraiensis (O. tsutsugamushi Lc-1).
