Analysis of Motorscooter Ride Comfort
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2002<div class="htmlview paragraph">A ride comfort analysis of two-wheeled veichles is discussed in this work. A series of experimental tests were performed in relation to roads having different surface roughness; employed vehicles, differing on motorization, suspensions and wheel sizes, were instrumented with two axes (longitudinally and vertically ...

Commercial Vehicle Ride Comfort
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1984<div class="htmlview paragraph">This paper presents a systematic optimization of vibration comfort in a truck. The aim is to minimize exposure of the driver to mechanical vibrations in his place of work, the cab.</div> <div class="htmlview paragraph">The method used was a systematic analysis of the sources of resonance by calculation ...

Vibration Ride Comfort Criteria
Proceedings of the Human Factors Society Annual Meeting, 1976This paper presents results obtained from a test program being conducted at Langley Research Center to develop an empirical model for predicting passenger comfort responses to multiaxis vibrations. The specific results contained in this paper are restricted to a description and understanding of human response to complex vertical axis vibrations.

<div class="htmlview paragraph">Riding-comfort is defined as the transportation of an automobile passenger in so easy a manner that the trip will be a pleasure and not a hardship. Since spring-suspension constitutes the basis of riding comfort in passenger-cars, the paper deals with some of the important factors that determine correct chassis ...

Ride comfort is defined as the overall comfort and well-being of the vehicle’s occupants during vehicle travel. The main sources of discomfort are oscillations which reach the vehicle’s passenger compartment and cause noise, vibration, or both. Since the sources of these oscillations (the roadway, chassis, and powertrain) are outside of the passenger ...

Journal of Fluids Engineering, 1949
Abstract The author feels that in creating luxurious passenger cars, economical limits have been exceeded by introducing costly, complicated, and over-engineered appurtenances. The same criticism applies to truck design. Excessive weight and complications militate against long life of truck and track, and maintenance costs are high.

Farm tractor ride comfort assessment
2016Farm tractor operators spend a major part of their life on board of such vehicles, exposed to whole body vibrations potentially harmful for health. The assessment of the vibration level is therefore of crucial importance. This paper deals with the experimental measurement of the vibration acting on the operator body.

Ridemeter – Calculated Ride Comfort
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2007<div class="htmlview paragraph">The ridemeter is a development tool that provides a predictive value for subjectively perceived ride quality on the basis of objective measured values. After years of preliminary investigations it was possible to make the link between the subjective driving experience and objective measured data.
