Sedimentation and subsidence history of the Lomonosov Ridge [PDF]
During the first scientific ocean drilling expedition to the Arctic Ocean (Arctic Coring Expedition [ACEX]; Integrated Ocean Drilling Program Expedition 302), four sites were drilled and cored atop the central part of the Lomonosov Ridge in the Arctic ...

There are various types of fruits and vegetables that need to be planted on ridges. In order to allow for seedlings with a certain row space and seedling space, the ridge transplanter should be able to track along the ridge.

Genetic Nature of Fertility Type in Cotton Hybrids [PDF]
Studies have been conducted to evaluate the genetic potential of cotton species and to develop disease and pest resistant cotton varieties from them. The significance of the level of leaf hairiness in the representatives of the Gossypium L.

Soft Contribution to the Hard Ridge in Relativistic Nuclear Collisions
Nuclear collisions exhibit long-range rapidity correlations not present in proton-proton collisions. Because the correlation structure is wide in relative pseudorapidity and narrow in relative azimuthal angle, it is known as the ridge.

The use of the model for determining potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) tuber distribution in the soil
The paper focuses on the testing of a model for determining the distribution of potato tubers in the soil. Analytical testing of the model was performed at the laboratory of the Biotechnological Faculty (University in Ljubljana) in 2015 and in the same ...

In the colour string picture with fusion and percolation it is shown that long range azimuthal-rapidity correlations (ridge) can arise from the superposition of many events with exchange of clusters of different number of strings and not from a single event. Relation of the ridge with the flow harmonics coefficients is derived.

Embedded ridge approximations [PDF]
Many quantities of interest (qois) arising from differential-equation-centric models can be resolved into functions of scalar fields. Examples of such qois include the lift over an airfoil or the displacement of a loaded structure; examples of corresponding fields are the static pressure field in a computational fluid dynamics solution, and the strain ...

Ridge polynomial networks [PDF]
This paper presents a polynomial connectionist network called ridge polynomial network (RPN) that can uniformly approximate any continuous function on a compact set in multidimensional input space R (d), with arbitrary degree of accuracy. This network provides a more efficient and regular architecture compared to ordinary higher-order feedforward ...
