Quasi-steady spreading of a thin ridge of fluid with temperature-dependent surface tension on a heated or cooled substrate [PDF]
We investigate theoretically the problem of the quasi-steady spreading or contraction of a thin two-dimensional sessile or pendent ridge of viscous fluid with temperature-dependent surface tension on a planar horizontal substrate that is uniformly heated

Modified ridge‐type estimator to combat multicollinearity: Application to chemical data
The Linear regression model is one of the most widely used models in different fields of study. The most popularly used estimation technique is the ordinary least squares estimator.

Potato yield and tuber quality in 75 cm and 90 cm wide ridges
In 2002, 2003, and 2004, a field trial was carried out in three locations in Slovenia, i.e., Pšata, Brnik, and Brežice with two different inter-row widths (IRWs) of 75 cm and 90 cm using three different potato cultivars (i.e., Agria, Bright, and ...

The flow of the Antarctic circumpolar current over the North Scotia Ridge [PDF]
The transports associated with the Subantarctic Front (SAF) and the Polar Front (PF) account for the majority of the volume transport of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC).

Fluctuations in initial energy density distributions in A + A collisions [PDF]
The analysis of particle correlations as a function of relative pseudo-rapidity and azimuthal angle exhibit novel ridge-like structures that were discovered at RHIC in A + A collisions.

In the colour string picture with fusion and percolation it is shown that long range azimuthal-rapidity correlations (ridge) can arise from the superposition of many events with exchange of clusters of different number of strings and not from a single event. Relation of the ridge with the flow harmonics coefficients is derived.

Linear/Ridge expansions: Enhancing linear approximations by ridge functions [PDF]
We consider approximations formed by the sum of a linear combination of given functions enhanced by ridge functions -- a Linear/Ridge expansion. For an explicitly or implicitly given function, we reformulate finding a best Linear/Ridge expansion in terms of an optimization problem. We introduce a particle grid algorithm for its solution.

Genetic Nature of Fertility Type in Cotton Hybrids [PDF]
Studies have been conducted to evaluate the genetic potential of cotton species and to develop disease and pest resistant cotton varieties from them. The significance of the level of leaf hairiness in the representatives of the Gossypium L.

Ridge Regularized Estimation of VAR Models for Inference [PDF]
Ridge regression is a popular method for dense least squares regularization. In this work, ridge regression is studied in the context of VAR model estimation and inference. The implications of anisotropic penalization are discussed and a comparison is made with Bayesian ridge-type estimators.

There are various types of fruits and vegetables that need to be planted on ridges. In order to allow for seedlings with a certain row space and seedling space, the ridge transplanter should be able to track along the ridge.
