The Riemann-Stieltjes Integral

open access: yesMissouri Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 1994
Riemann-Stieltjes integration is an optional topic for a first course in real analysis. In this paper, we examine some of the pedagogical reasons in favor of its inclusion and some of the technical anachronisms associated with it.

Riemann zeta zeros and prime number spectra in quantum field theory

open access: yes, 2013
The Riemann hypothesis states that all nontrivial zeros of the zeta function lie in the critical line $\Re(s)=1/2$. Hilbert and P\'olya suggested that one possible way to prove the Riemann hypothesis is to interpret the nontrivial zeros in the light of ...

Option pricing in a stochastic delay volatility model

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 48, Issue 2, Page 1927-1951, 30 January 2025.
This work introduces a new stochastic volatility model with delay parameters in the volatility process, extending the Barndorff–Nielsen and Shephard model. It establishes an analytical expression for the log price characteristic function, which can be applied to price European options.

An Analysis of Controllability Criteria for Higher‐Order Caputo Fractional Differential Systems With State and Control Delays

open access: yesInternational Journal of Differential Equations, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
The present study investigates the controllability problems for higher‐order semilinear fractional differential systems (HOSLFDSs) with state and control delays in the context of the Caputo fractional derivative. Exploiting the invertibility of the Gramian matrix of fractional order, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the controllability ...

Existence and uniqueness of nontrivial solutions to a system of fractional differential equations with Riemann–Stieltjes integral conditions

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2018
This paper studies a system of fractional differential equations with Riemann–Stieltjes integral conditions. The existence and uniqueness of nontrivial solutions to the above system are established under some weaker conditions by the Leray–Schauder ...

Sharp Bounds for the Deviation of a Function from the Chord Generated by its Extremities and Applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Sharp bounds for the deviation of a real-valued function f defined on a compact interval [a, b] to the chord generated by its end points (a, f (a)) and (b, f (b)) under various assumptions for f and f' including absolute continuity, convexity, bounded

Sharpenings of Li's criterion for the Riemann Hypothesis

open access: yes, 2006
Exact and asymptotic formulae are displayed for the coefficients $\lambda_n$ used in Li's criterion for the Riemann Hypothesis. For $n \to \infty$ we obtain that if (and only if) the Hypothesis is true, $\lambda_n \sim n(A \log n +B)$ (with $A>0$ and $B$

Multiplicity and Uniqueness of Solution for a Class of Asymptotically Linear Fractional Differential Equation With Nonlocal Conditions

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
In this paper, we study a class of asymptotically linear fractional nonlocal boundary value problems depending on the fractional derivative of lower order; the nonlinear term may be sign‐changing. By using the theory of fixed point index for asymptotically linear operators and the Banach contraction mapping principle, the multiplicity and uniqueness of

Existence Results for Fractional Differential Equations with Multistrip Riemann–Stieltjes Integral Boundary Conditions

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2018
This paper is concerned with the existence and multiplicity of the positive solutions for a fractional boundary value problem with multistrip Riemann–Stieltjes integral boundary conditions.

Analytical Properties of k‐Generalized Digamma and Polygamma Functions Derived From Dilcher‐Type Gamma Functions

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
This study presents a detailed investigation into the analytical properties of the generalized Gamma function introduced by Dilcher. We establish a fundamental recurrence relation and derive novel reflection formula for this generalized function, extending the classical identities known for the Euler Gamma function.
