Polysomnography in Transition: Reassessing Its Role in the Future of Sleep Medicine
This figure summarizes the disadvantages (“Cons”) and advantages (“Pros”) of developing polysomnography in the future. Abbreviations: CAPS: cyclic alternative patterns; ORP: odd ratio products; PSG: polysomnography; REM: rapid eye movement sleep. ABSTRACT PSG, a cornerstone diagnostic instrument in sleep medicine, is recommended for the diagnosis of ...

Sleep Reactivity Amplifies the Impact of Pre‐Sleep Cognitive Arousal on Sleep Disturbances
This study investigates how sleep reactivity moderates the ‘stress‐pre‐sleep arousal‐sleep’ pathway in university students. At the within‐individual level, both high and low sleep‐reactive groups showed increased pre‐sleep cognitive arousal and sleep disruptions in response to elevated daily stress.

Cointegrating Polynomial Regressions With Power Law Trends
ABSTRACT The common practice in cointegrating polynomial regressions (CPRs) often confines nonlinearities in the variable of interest to stochastic trends, thereby overlooking the possibility that they may be caused by deterministic components. As an extension, we propose univariate and multivariate CPRs that incorporate power law deterministic trends.

Change Point Analysis for Functional Data Using Empirical Characteristic Functionals
ABSTRACT We develop a new method to detect change points in the distribution of functional data based on integrated CUSUM processes of empirical characteristic functionals. Asymptotic results are presented under conditions allowing for low‐order moments and serial dependence in the data establishing the limiting null‐distribution of the proposed test ...

Dynamically Consistent Analysis of Realized Covariations in Term Structure Models
ABSTRACT In this article, we show how to analyze the covariation of bond prices nonparametrically and robustly, staying consistent with a general no‐arbitrage setting. This is, in particular, motivated by the problem of identifying the number of statistically relevant factors in the bond market under minimal conditions.

Beyond Bandung and Belgrade: Damodar Dharmananda Kosambi, A Forgotten Indian Voice for World Peace
ABSTRACT Dr. Damodar Dharmananda Kosambi (1907–1966) was an Indian polymath best known for his intellectual contributions in a dizzyingly wide range of fields: mathematics, statistics, genetics, numismatics, history, and literature. His enduring reputation seems to have been posthumously sealed as the father of Marxist historiography in India. What has

Successful stocking of wild European perch in a reestablished lake with lasting effect over 10 years
Biological manipulation of fish compositions to enhance top‐down control of trophic webs is a common method for improving water and ecological quality in shallow eutrophic lakes, but it often fails. As an alternative to manually thinning unfavored fish stocks, piscivorous fish species can be released to suppress the recruitment of cyprinid fish ...
