Who Knows Best What the Next Year Will Hold for You? The Validity of Direct and Personality‐based Predictions of Future Life Experiences Across Different Perceivers

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Personality, EarlyView., 2020
Abstract This study explored the validity of person judgements by targets and their acquaintances (‘informants’) in longitudinally predicting a broad range of psychologically meaningful life experiences. Judgements were gathered from four sources (targets, N = 189; and three types of informants, N = 1352), and their relative predictive validity was ...

Modified Riemann sums of Riemann-Stieltjes integrable functions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
In this paper, motivated by physical considerations, we introduce the notion of modified Riemann sums of Riemann-Stieltjes integrable functions, show that they converge, and compute them explicitely under various assumptions.

Creep properties and constitutive model of diabase in deep water conveyance tunnels

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The axial and lateral creep characteristics of diabase were analyzed based on compression creep tests. The nonlinear viscoelastic‐plastic model capable of describing the whole creep process was established based on the fractional derivative and damage theories.

New Variant of Hermite–Jensen–Mercer Inequalities via Riemann–Liouville Fractional Integral Operators

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2020
In this paper, certain Hermite–Hadamard–Mercer-type inequalities are proved via Riemann–-Liouville fractional integral operators. We established several new variants of Hermite–Hadamard’s inequalities for Riemann–Liouville fractional integral operators ...

A new approach on fractional calculus and probability density function

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics, 2020
In statistical analysis, oftentimes a probability density function is used to describe the relationship between certain unknown parameters and measurements taken to learn about them.

EVOLUTION‐HF DEallEF: A non‐interventional study of patients with heart failure initiated on dapagliflozin: study design

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims Heart failure (HF) is one of today's leading public health issues worldwide. The sodium‐glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor (SGLT2i) dapagliflozin recently received a label expansion. It is now approved for treatment of HF across the entire spectrum of ejection fraction (EF) in Germany. However, real‐world data are limited.

Riemann Integral on Fractal Structures

open access: yesMathematics
In this work we start developing a Riemann-type integration theory on spaces which are equipped with a fractal structure. These topological structures have a recursive nature, which allows us to guarantee a good approximation to the true value of a ...

A sharp companion of Ostrowski's inequality for the Riemann-Stieltjes integral and applications

open access: yesAnnales Universitatis Paedagogicae Cracoviensis: Studia Mathematica, 2016
A sharp companion of Ostrowski's inequality for the Riemann-Stieltjes integral ∫ab f(t)du(t), where f is assumed to be of r-H-Hölder type on [a,b] and u is of bounded variation on [a,b], is proved.

A notion of primitive that fits the Riemann integral [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
We present a notion of primitive which corresponds exactly with the Riemann integral. We obtain a characterization of the integrability in the sense of Riemann which produces a Fundamental Theorem of Calculus without special assumptions. We prove a lemma which generalizes the theorem on functions with zero derivative in an interval.

Solar Energy Storage Optimization Using Fractional Derivative Simulations of Maxwell Hybrid Nanofluid Flow: Entropy Generation Analysis

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This attempt examines the heat transfer enhancement from unsteady bioconvective Maxwell nanofluid flow under the incidence of solar radiation influenced by viscous dissipation and chemical reaction through a porous medium. The nanofluid contains silver and titanium alloy hybrid nanoparticles with gyrotactic micro‐organisms in ethylene glycol ...
