Differences in Prokaryotic Community Composition Between Two Climatically Contrasting Years in an Arctic Fjord Ecosystem

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 2, April 2026.
Seasonal dynamics of prokaryotic communities in Kongsfjorden were driven by contrasting hydrographic conditions in 2019 and 2020. Atlantification enhanced prokaryotic diversity and interactions in 2019, while sea ice and glacial runoff in 2020 reduced surface diversity and network complexity, underscoring Arctic prokaryotic sensitivity to environmental

Neural and Behavioral Tracking of Musical Phrases Occurs Without Temporal Regularity

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 63, Issue 7, April 2026.
When listening to music or speech, people naturally segment continuous sound streams into meaningful units. We investigated how the temporal predictability of segment boundaries influences listeners' ability to track musical structure. Both neural and behavioral measures showed robust tracking of musical phrasing regardless of boundary regularity ...

Riemann's method of integration. Its extensions with an application

open access: yesCollectanea Mathematica, 1953
The classical method of integration of hypcrbolic differential equations, due to Riemann, is developed and extended. The cases in which the Cauchy data is discontinuous and the initial curve is cut by a characteristic in more than one point, are considered. An application of the extensions to onedimensional gas dynamics is made.

The Effects of Daridorexant on Patients With Comorbid Insomnia Disorder and Untreated Mild Obstructive Sleep Apnoea: A Post Hoc Subgroup Analysis of a Phase 3, Randomised Clinical Trial

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, Volume 35, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Daridorexant, a dual orexin receptor antagonist, is approved for the treatment of insomnia disorder in adults. Approximately 30%–35% of patients with insomnia disorder also have obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) of any severity. It is unclear whether sleep medications provide safe and effective treatment for insomnia in these patients.
