Applications of Quaternionic Holomorphic Geometry to minimal surfaces

open access: yesComplex Manifolds, 2016
In this paper we give a survey of methods of Quaternionic Holomorphic Geometry and of applications of the theory to minimal surfaces. We discuss recent developments in minimal surface theory using integrable systems.

Quasiconformal folding—a review of ‘Models for the Eremenko–Lyubich class'

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 114, Issue 2, August 2026.
Abstract We review the paper ‘Models for the Eremenko–Lyubich class’ by Bishop, which appeared in the Journal of the London Mathematical Society in 2015, the first of two LMS papers for which Bishop received the LMS Senior Berwick Prize in 2024. This is one of a series of papers where Bishop introduced his new technique of quasiconformal folding, which

A trace–path integral formula over function fields

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 114, Issue 2, August 2026.
Abstract We show that an arithmetic path integral over the ℓ$\ell$‐torsion of a Jacobian J[ℓ]$J[\ell]$ is equal to the trace of the Frobenius action on a representation of the Heisenberg group H(J[ℓ])$H(J[\ell])$, up to an explicitly determined sign.

An EZ${\mathcal {E}\mathcal {Z}}$‐structure for the mapping class group

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 133, Issue 2, August 2026.
Abstract We construct a boundary for the mapping class group Mod(S)${\rm Mod}(S)$ of a surface S$S$ of finite type. The action of Mod(S)${\rm Mod}(S)$ on this boundary is minimal, strongly proximal and topologically free. The boundary is the boundary of an EZ${\mathcal {E}\mathcal {Z}}$‐structure for Mod(S)${\rm Mod}(S)$.

Period realization of meromorphic differentials with prescribed invariants

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma
We provide a complete description of realizable period representations for meromorphic differentials on Riemann surfaces with prescribed orders of zeros and poles, hyperelliptic structure and spin parity.

An integral involving the generalized zeta function

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1990
A general value for ∫abdtlogΓ(t), for a, b positive reals, is derived in terms of the Hurwitz ζ function. That expression is checked for a previously known special integral, and the case where a is a positive integer and b is half an odd integer is ...

Improved subjective sleep quality in older adults by enhancing the GABAergic system in the sensorimotor cortex

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 604, Issue 15, Page 6506-6546, 1 August 2026.
Abstract figure legend Sleep disturbances are common in older adults, highlighting the need for accessible interventions to improve sleep quality. Eighteen older adults per group (balance training and control) were assessed before and after 12 weeks. The balance group increased GABA levels (magnetic resonance spectroscopy) and functional connectivity ...
