In‐and‐Out: Algorithmic Diffusion for Sampling Convex Bodies
ABSTRACT We present a new random walk for uniformly sampling high‐dimensional convex bodies. It achieves state‐of‐the‐art runtime complexity with stronger guarantees on the output than previously known, namely in Rényi divergence (which implies TV, 𝒲2, KL, χ2$$ {\chi}^2 $$).

Kuramoto Model on Sierpinski Gasket I: Harmonic Maps
ABSTRACT Motivated by the study of attractors in the Kuramoto model (KM) on graphs, approximating the Sierpinski gasket (SG), we revisit the problem of harmonic maps (HMs) from SG to the circle, first considered by Strichartz. We provide a geometric proof of Strichartz's theorem, which states that for a prescribed degree and suitable boundary ...

The Lp$L^p$‐diameter of the space of contractible loops
Abstract We prove that the space of contractible simple loops of a given fixed area in any compact oriented surface has infinite diameter as a homogeneous space of the group of area‐preserving diffeomorphisms endowed with the Lp$L^p$‐metric. As a special case, this resolves the Lp$L^p$‐metric analog of the well‐known question in symplectic topology ...

A simplified Proof of the Hopf Conjecture
The use of the barycentre map between two copies of ℝn , the first one with a metric without conjugate points, the second one with the canonical flat metric, allows to prove in a simplified way the fact that Riemannian tori without conjugate points are ...

Lorentzian homogeneous structures with indecomposable holonomy
Abstract For a Lorentzian homogeneous space, we study how algebraic conditions on the isotropy group affect the geometry and curvature of the homogeneous space. More specifically, we prove that a Lorentzian locally homogeneous space is locally isometric to a plane wave if it admits an Ambrose–Singer connection with indecomposable, non‐irreducible ...

Application of joint domain localised matrix CFAR detector for HFSWR
Target detection is one of the most important parts of high-frequency surface wave radar (HFSWR) signal processing, to find targets in noise or clutter and obtain targets’ information.
