Cloud‐Plots for Spherical Data With Applications to Glaucoma and Gait Cyclograms

open access: yesStatistics in Medicine, Volume 45, Issue 18-19, August 2026.
ABSTRACT In several biomedical contexts, the need for diagnostic analyses of data that is a set of directions in 2, 3, or higher dimensions arises, as for instance, when considering the relative movement of body parts like the limbs, or looking at anatomical orientations.

Pairwise Imitation and Tournament Graphs

open access: yesInternational Economic Review, Volume 67, Issue 3, Page 937-955, August 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper investigates strategic dynamics under the behavioral rule of pairwise interact and imitate (PII), which requires minimal information and emphasizes outperforming opponents in pairwise interactions. We characterize PII using weak tournament graphs and, for a broad class of dynamics, establish a one‐shot stability result for ...

Riemannian Optimization for Active Mapping With Robot Teams

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Robotics
Autonomous exploration of unknown environments using a team of mobile robots demands distributed perception and planning strategies to enable efficient and scalable performance. Ideally, each robot should update its map and plan its motion not only relying on its own observations, but also considering the observations of its peers.

Kazdan–Warner obstructions for a fourth‐order boundary problem

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract We derive Kazdan–Warner type identities for the boundary problem of prescribing nonconstant interior Q$Q$ curvature and boundary T$T$ curvature on the upper hemisphere S+4${\mathbb {S}}^{4}_{+}$ by a conformal change of the standard metric.

Degrees of maps and multiscale geometry

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Pi
We study the degree of an L-Lipschitz map between Riemannian manifolds, proving new upper bounds and constructing new examples. For instance, if $X_k$ is the connected sum of k copies of $\mathbb CP^2$ for $k \ge 4$ , then we prove ...

Weinstein neighborhood theorems for stratified subspaces

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 114, Issue 2, August 2026.
Abstract By analogy with Weinstein's neighborhood theorem, we prove a uniqueness result for symplectic neighborhoods of a large family of stratified subspaces. This result generalizes existing constructions, for example, in the search for exotic Lagrangians.

An EZ${\mathcal {E}\mathcal {Z}}$‐structure for the mapping class group

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 133, Issue 2, August 2026.
Abstract We construct a boundary for the mapping class group Mod(S)${\rm Mod}(S)$ of a surface S$S$ of finite type. The action of Mod(S)${\rm Mod}(S)$ on this boundary is minimal, strongly proximal and topologically free. The boundary is the boundary of an EZ${\mathcal {E}\mathcal {Z}}$‐structure for Mod(S)${\rm Mod}(S)$.

Harmonic-hyperbolic geometric flow

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2017
In this article we study a coupled system for hyperbolic geometric flow on a closed manifold M, with a harmonic flow map from M to some closed target manifold N. Then we show that this flow has a unique solution for a short-time.

Volume Comparison in the presence of a Gromov-Hausdorff ε−approximation II

open access: yesAnnals of the West University of Timisoara: Mathematics and Computer Science, 2018
Let (M, g) be any compact, connected, Riemannian manifold of dimension n. We use a transport of measures and the barycentre to construct a map from (M, g) onto a Hyperbolic manifold (ℍn/Λ, g0) (Λ is a torsionless subgroup of Isom(ℍn,g0)), in such a way ...

SEMI-INVARIANT RIEMANNIAN MAPS TO KÄHLER MANIFOLDS

open access: yesInternational Journal of Geometric Methods in Modern Physics, 2011
This paper has two aims. First, we show that the usual notion of umbilical maps between Riemannian manifolds does not work for Riemannian maps. Then we introduce a new notion of umbilical Riemannian maps between Riemannian manifolds and give a method on how to construct examples of umbilical Riemannian maps.
