Is out‐of‐hours cholecystectomy for acute cholecystitis associated with complications?
BJS (British Journal of Surgery), Volume 107, Issue 10, Page 1313-1323, September 2020., 2020 Early surgery is recommended for acute cholecystitis. The study was performed to see whether surgery out of hours is associated with a higher risk of complications compared with surgery within office hours. There was a higher risk of complications for out‐of‐hours surgery, but it seemed to be due to factors other than time of day of surgery.
