Riesz Bases of Port-Hamiltonian Systems [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 2021
The location of the spectrum and the Riesz basis property of well-posed homogeneous infinite-dimensional linear port-Hamiltonian systems on a 1D spatial domain are studied. It is shown that the Riesz basis property is equivalent to the fact that system operator generates a strongly continuous group.

Probabilistic logics based on Riesz spaces [PDF]

open access: yesLogical Methods in Computer Science, 2020
We introduce a novel real-valued endogenous logic for expressing properties of probabilistic transition systems called Riesz modal logic. The design of the syntax and semantics of this logic is directly inspired by the theory of Riesz spaces, a mature field of mathematics at the intersection of universal algebra and functional analysis.

K-Riesz bases and K-g-Riesz bases in Hilbert C∗-module

open access: yesProyecciones (Antofagasta), 2023
This paper is devoted to studying the K-Riesz bases and the K-g-Riesz bases in Hilbert C∗-modules; we characterize the concept of K-Riesz bases by a bounded below operator and the standard orthonormal basis for Hilbert C∗-modules H. Also We give some properties and characterization of K-g-Riesz bases by a bounded surjective operator and g-orthonormal ...

On Weaving Generalized Frames and Generalized Riesz Bases [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society, 2021
Weaving frames have potential applications in wireless sensor networks that require distributed processing of signal under different frames. In this paper, we study some new properties of weaving generalized frames (or $g$-frames) and weaving generalized orthonormal bases (or $g$-orthonormal bases).

Modular Riesz bases versus Riesz bases in Hilbert C∗-modules [PDF]

open access: yesAsian-European Journal of Mathematics, 2019
In this paper, we give new characterizations of modular Riesz bases in Hilbert [Formula: see text]-modules. We prove that modular Riesz bases share many properties with Riesz bases in Hilbert spaces. Moreover, we show that there are also important differences; for example, there exist exact frames that are not modular Riesz bases.

The Balian-Low theorem and noncommutative tori [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We point out a link between the theorem of Balian and Low on the non-existence of well-localized Gabor-Riesz bases and a constant curvature connection on projective modules over noncommutative tori.Comment: 7 pages, to appear in Expositiones ...

Data Driven Reconstruction Using Frames and Riesz Bases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
We study the problem of regularization of inverse problems adopting a purely data driven approach, by using the similarity to the method of regularization by projection. We provide an application of a projection algorithm, utilized and applied in frames theory, as a data driven reconstruction procedure in inverse problems, generalizing the algorithm ...

Riesz Basicity for General Systems of Functions

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2014
In this paper we find the general conditions for a complete biorthogonal conjugate system to form a Riesz basis. We show that if a complete biorthogonal conjugate system is uniformly bounded and its coefficient space is solid, then the system forms a ...

Hierarchical Riesz bases for Hs(Omega), 1 < s < 5/2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
On arbitrary polygonal domains $Omega subset RR^2$, we construct $C^1$ hierarchical Riesz bases for Sobolev spaces $H^s(Omega)$. In contrast to an earlier construction by Dahmen, Oswald, and Shi (1994), our bases will be of Lagrange instead of Hermite ...

Some New Notions of Bases for the Range of Operators in Hilbert Spaces [PDF]

open access: yesSahand Communications in Mathematical Analysis
This paper is devoted to introduce a new concept of bases for the range of the operator $K$. Actually, we consider controlled $K$-orthonormal and controlled $K$-Riesz bases which are a generalization of ordinary bases in Hilbert spaces. In the sequel, we
