Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

Resistance and Street Theatre: Democratizing the Space and Spatializing the Democracy

open access: yesSanglap: Journal of Literary and Cultural Inquiry, 2015
The present paper explores how the practice of street theatre by staging resistance not only exercises the right to resist but strengthens the democratic values and institutions.

Diagnostic Stewardship Trends and Antimicrobial Resistance Profiles of Bacteria Isolated in Zambia: A Five-Year Retrospective Study (2020–2024)

open access: yesAntibiotics
Background/Objectives: The right diagnostic tests, for the right patient, at the right time, are key to optimising antimicrobial use (AMU) and preventing antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Fontan Physiology without Surgery: A Hemodynamic Paradox in RV Endomyocardial Fibrosis

open access: yesJournal of the Indian Academy of Echocardiography & Cardiovascular Imaging
Endomyocardial fibrosis (EMF) is a form of restrictive cardiomyopathy that often involves the right ventricle (RV). In rare cases, advanced RV EMF can mimic the hemodynamics of surgically created Fontan circulation, a phenomenon known as acquired Fontan ...

Hemodynamic rounds: Transcatheter creation of ventricular septal defect in pulmonary arterial hypertension with suprasystemic pressures

open access: yesAnnals of Pediatric Cardiology
This hemodynamic round section deals with severe pulmonary arterial hypertension with suprasystemic pulmonary artery pressures in a patient who underwent delayed surgical correction of the double-outlet right ventricle with a large subaortic ventricular ...
