Treatment of right ventricular thrombus with severe right ventricular dysfunction using urokinase

We describe a patient with Budd-Chiari syndrome who developed an right ventricular (RV) thrombus after a mesoatrial shunt procedure for intractable ascites. The patient's hemodynamic performance mimicked RV infarction. The thrombus and its dissolution with urokinase was followed serially by echocardiography.
