Temperature Effects on Rigid Pavements
Journal of Transportation Engineering, 1994An analysis technique, to be used in conjunction with packaged finite‐element programs, is developed for the study of rigid pavements subjected to temperature loading. For illustrative purpose, the pavement is idealized as a thin isotropic plate resting on a Winkler‐type elastic foundation.

THE FOUNDATION WAS TREATED AS AN ELASTIC CONTINUOUS, BUT DIFFERENT BOUNDARY CONDITIONS WERE CONSIDERED FOR THE PAVEMENT SLAB, AND AN IMPROVED COMPUTATION TECHNIQUE WAS USED.
