Digital Twins for the Design, Interactive Control, and Deployment of Modular, Fiber‐Reinforced Soft Continuum Arms

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A digital twin framework is presented for modular soft continuum arms built from fiber‐reinforced pneumatic actuators. Cosserat rod models describe individual actuators, while virtual assemblies are formed through serial and parallel networks, preserving actuator‐level architecture and arm deformation.

Benchmarking Data‐Driven Control of Octopus‐Inspired Soft Arms in Underwater Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Underwater soft robots present safe, compliant interaction, yet reproducible control remains scarce. This work presents an open benchmark for octopus‐inspired arms: a smooth, velocity‐diverse data‐collection scheme produces a compact dataset to train a vanilla policy.

Monolithic Porous Polymer Architectures for Visible‐to‐UV Upconversion‐Driven Photochemical Reactions

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Porous polymer monoliths embedded with sensitizer–annihilator dye pairs enable efficient solid‐state visible‐to‐ultraviolet triplet–triplet annihilation‐based photon upconversion under low‐intensity blue and green light. Their co‐continuous porous architectures balance chromophore interactions with substrate accessibility, providing robust and tunable ...

Towards Human‐Centered Intelligent Inhabitable Spaces: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This review introduces Robot‐Rooms as a new category of architectural‐scale robots that do not operate within a space but actively form and reconfigure the space around their occupants. Drawing from robotics, HCI, architecture, and the arts, an interdisciplinary framework is proposed that maps the enabling technologies and integration challenges ...

Generalizable Strategies for the Synthesis of Cereblon‐Recruiting PROTAC Prodrugs

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Cereblon‐recruiting PROTACs remain challenging to derivatize for prodrug‐based delivery. In this study, three complementary conjugation strategies enabled the efficient synthesis of cleavable PROTAC prodrugs with tunable release kinetics that can be incorporated into a library of PEGylated constructs and bottlebrush prodrugs.

Polyproline: A Synthetic Polypeptide With Unique Properties

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Poly‐L‐proline is a unique polypeptide distinguished by its well‐defined secondary structures and unusual thermal behavior. This mini review highlights recent advances in the synthesis of poly‐L‐proline by N‐carboxyanhydride (NCA) polymerization, the formation of structurally defined architectures and nanostructures, and emerging strategies that ...
