STRESSES IN RIGID PAVEMENTS WERE OBTAINED BY USING A FOUNDATION MODEL RATHER THAN THE DENSE LIQUID MODEL. THE FOUNDATION WAS TREATED AS AN ELASTIC CONTINUOUS, BUT DIFFERENT BOUNDARY CONDITIONS WERE CONSIDERED FOR THE PAVEMENT SLAB, AND AN IMPROVED COMPUTATION TECHNIQUE WAS USED.
