Impact Of Traffic Characteristics and Pavement Surface Condition on Noise Level for Rigid Pavement

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environment, 2022
The proper design of a road’s surface layer can result in pavements that are not only better in terms of ride comfort and safety, but also in terms of noise reduction.

Developing a Higher Performance and Less Thickness Concrete Pavement: Using a Nonconventional Concrete Mixture

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2020
During the last three decades, concrete pavement or rigid pavement became a widely used alternative of flexible pavement (asphalt pavement) at freeways and highways with high traffic of heavy vehicles, due to its durability, long life, and less need of ...

Investigation of transverse crack spacing in an asphalt pavement with a semi-rigid base

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Transverse cracking is a serious problem for semi-rigid base asphalt pavement. The shrinkage of the base course and the surface course, as well as reflective cracks, are key factors for transverse cracking in asphalt pavement.

Positioning and detection of rigid pavement cracks using GNSS data and image processing

open access: yesEarth Science Informatics
Modern pavement management systems depend mainly on pavement condition assessment to plan rehabilitation strategies. Manual inspection is performed by trained inspectors to assess pavement damages conventionally.

Deflection Control in Rigid Pavements

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2017
The need for modern transportation systems together with the high demand for perpetual pavements under the drastically increasing applied loads has led to a great deal of research on concrete as a pavement material worldwide. This research indeed instigated many modifications in concrete aiming for improving the concrete properties.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.
