The thermodynamics of rigid materials with “quasi electromagnetic” response
Meccanica, 1974Following the Coleman-Noll interpretation of the second law of Thermodynamics, the Author discusses the thermodynamics of the electromagnetic field in stationary rigid materials. Recalling the concept of “quasi elastic” response for deformable bodies, introduced by Wang and Bowen, the new definition of “quasi electromagnetic” response for rigid bodies ...

Optimal Stabilization of the Rigid Rotor Rotating in Electromagnetic Bearings
2021The optimal stabilization problem of the rigid rotor, rotating in electromagnetic bearings is considered. To solve the problem the control law for output was designed in the form of full order linear dynamic controller. Currents in the circuits of electromagnets were considered as measured and controlled parameters of the system.

Ventriculoscopic neuronavigation has been described in several articles. However, there are different ventriculoscopes and navigation systems. Due to these different combinations, it is difficult to find detailed neuronavigation protocols. We describe, step-by-step, a simple method to navigate both the trajectory until reaching the ventricular system ...

Development of an Electromagnetic Impactor for Structures With Large Rigid Body Motions
Volume 3B: 15th Biennial Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise — Acoustics, Vibrations, and Rotating Machines, 1995Abstract A PC-controlled electromagnetic impactor (PCC-EMI) is developed that can be used for broad band excitation of rotating structures from a stationary system. Begin, magnitude and position of the force impact exerted to the moving structure are automatically and precisely controlled by a personal computer through a new electronic ...

Nonlinear dynamics of a system of rigid bodies with controlled electromagnetic dampers
International Applied Mechanics, 2011A nonlinear mathematical model of a system of n rigid bodies undergoing translational vibrations under inertial loading is constructed. The system includes ball supports as a seismic-isolation mechanism and electromagnetic dampers controlled via an inertial feedback channel.

AbstractIt is well known that metal objects perturb electromagnetic fields. Therefore, a conventional metal microdialysis probe cannot be used to determine the bioeffects of electromagnetic radiation. Using fused‐silica tubing, we developed an inexpensive nonmetallic, rigid microdialysis probe for use in electromagnetic radiation research or during ...

Study on suspension rigidity control of electromagnetic suspension system based on NN-PID
2008 7th World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation, 2008Permanent magnets have inherent magnetism. Power consumption of suspension system can be reduced and large air-gap can be reached when permanent magnets are applied to maglev system. But permanent magnets cannot be well controlled and the load of the electromagnetic suspension system (hereafter, EMSS) is not constant, so electromagnets should be added.

This study aims to propose and obtain rigid foam composites that have features of good sound absorption and electromagnetic shielding effectiveness. Polyether polyol, isocyanate, and distilled water are used to form rigid foams. The hot pressed low-melting-point polyester nonwoven fabrics with an area density of 200 g/m2 are combined with polyester ...

Stabilizing control of a 1-DOF electromagnetic levitation of pivoted-free rigid ferromagnetic beam
Measurement, 2017Abstract The paper presents design, fabrication and feedback control of a 1-Degree-of-Freedom (1-DOF) attractive type electromagnetic levitation of a pivoted-free ferromagnetic rigid beam (PFB). Previous work primarily utilizes single electromagnet as opposed to the one presented here.
