Hybrid energy harvesting system under the electromagnetic induced vibrations with non-rigid ground connection

Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing, 2022
Abstract A hybrid energy harvesting system has been presented in this study by vibrating a beam element with an electromagnetic actuator. With the structure proposed in this article, two different types of energy harvesting concepts were provided with the piezoelectric patch attached to the fixed end of the cantilever beam and the electromagnetic ...

Stability analysis of rigid rotors supported by gas foil bearings coupled with electromagnetic actuators

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 2019
Rotors supported on gas foil bearings have low damping characteristics, which limits its application. A possible solution could be an integration of a gas foil bearing with an electromagnetic actuator. This paper discusses the effect of electromagnetic actuators on the stability of a rotor supported on gas foil bearings.

Microelectromechanical Systems Tunable Frequency-Selective Surfaces and Electromagnetic-Bandgap Structures on Rigid-Flex Substrates

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2008
A novel microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) process is developed to fabricate large numbers of high-performance MEMS devices monolithically integrated onto a rigid-flex organic substrate using low-temperature processes. The rigid-flex substrate is all dielectric, which is amenable to low-loss electromagnetic structures.

Using Tensor Electromagnetism to Qualify and Quantify Elasticity in Rigid Materials

The elasticity of a rigid material can be quantified via direct application of strain and measurement of the induced boundary stresses. In the context of both crystalline and amorphous material rheology, however, there are advantages to working with a theory of elasticity that does not reference a strain field or a unique stress-free reference state ...

Specific Heat of a Classical, Plane, Rigid, Dipole Rotator in Electromagnetic Zero-Point Radiation

Physical Review D, 1970
A semiquantitative calculation is performed for the specific heat of a plane, rigid, electric-dipole rotator having classical interactions with thermal electromagnetic radiation including electromagnetic zero-point radiation. The calculation is termed semiquantitative because of the introduction of an unevaluated parameter to account for the failure ...
